Good Morning - I started my journey on NutriSytem about 4 weeks ago, and I was so excited after my first week showed a 5 LB weight loss. The second week I lost 1.5 Lbs (which I know is about average), but since then I have remained stagnant and not lost anything. I am sticking to the diet completely and eating only what I am supposed to as well as working out like crazy. I have always been a gym-person, but was never good at portion control, so this program has really helped me with that. What has got me down is that I feel like I am doing so well, my clothes fit better and I like what I see in the mirror, but the scale just isn't reflecting it. Am I too focused on the number and not enough on how I look and feel? On top of that, I have had so much extra stress at work and I wonder if that could be contributing to my no-pound-loss as well.

Thanks for taking the time to read this!.

Your question was: Why is my weight loss stagnant with Nutrisystem?.

Congrats on 6.5 lbs kicked to the curb! Toss your scale out the window, focus on how you look and feel right now, and keep working the program. You're doing GREAT!..

Thank you for the responses - that article about the scale was interesting and encouraging! As far as my workouts, I run 3 days a week for 45 - 60 minutes, and the other days I do weight training and other cardio. I always do an ab-workout as well. I haven't talked to a counselor yet nor taken my measurements, but I am definitely going to give those a try as well. Thanks again!..

The counselors are great!!! I am only on day 3 and have called many times. I love the support of this board and the counselors~!..

Hey Brooke - Not wondering if the stress is causing you to increase your cortisol which causes you store any food as fat (cortisol is what kicks in w/extreme stress for fight/flight responses - physical or not).

Another idea could be that since you're a gym rat you may be building more muscle which weighs more than fat so the # on the scale might be stagnant, but as you say you feel better, clothes are better, etc.

I agree with the others - a call to a counselor might help too.

Regardless of what you decide to do - keep sticking to the plan. It does work! eat, drink, exercise - it's almost magic!.

Keep up the good work!! We're all cheering you on to join the Nutrisystem big loser club!..

With your exercise regime, perhaps you need more protein but a conselor is your best source for that info...

Keep piling up on plan days. If you don't cheat, you WILL lose...

Unless the OP is hungry or weak, I don't think adding a protein serving is a good idea..

However, making sure you get a FULL protein serving every time is a good idea. You can have 100 calories, but no more than 3 grams of fat and AT LEAST 7 grams of protein. Therefore, 3 ounces of turkey is way better than a stick of string cheese, for example. Or a yogurt with 12 grams of protein is way better than one with only 5 grams...
