First question I have is Why don't I have to refrigerate Medifast Chicken breast? Many thanks for any comment. Second question.. I have looked through the PDFs and can't find how many carbs we are suppose to have. I think I am going over mine with my coffee creamer. I need to cut that out and just drink black coffee..

Also my SF syrup for pancakes has 12 carbs per serving. I can't recall now what the serving size is but I might be using too much of that too...

I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the right answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can help you..

Carbs should be kept between 80-100 and Helen is right, they say 85 is the magic number. I really just keep it in the scale of recommended and do fine. 12 carbs per serving is a ton. Condiments should be 1 or less per serving. It just goes to show you, sugar free does not necessarily mean carb free. You have to read the labels...

I've read (i believe!) 80-100 carbs, with 80-85 being optimal for fat burning. You can look at the Registered Dietitians bb, I've seen them address this question, you can search carbs..

They have also said that it's OK to go below that..

HUGS!..

Does anyone know what happens if your carbs fall below the 80-100 range? I mean if you come in around 60 do you think that will impact the rate in which you would lose?..

Going to Sprouts today to buy WF Pancake Syrup. I like theirs. I heard there is no carbs in that one. Maybe some but not on the label...

YES, you should- 12 carbs is WAY too many for a condiment! and I actually like the WF syrup!..

Wow, yes that is way HIGH lol....12 carbs yikes.....100 carbs max we can have daily!..

No need to cut out half and half. It is both an allowed fat and condiment...

You can have the lower carbs many do, Medifast says it's okay just make sure you are getting at least 800 calories. If not then you may want to add an additional snack..

I had searched for the post that said this (I found it several months ago) but can't find it again. Sorry...

I think a condiment is supposed to have no more than 1g carb per serving....or maybe 2? It's somewhere is the documents here. I have already found for myself that 100g carbs is WAY too high for me for weight loss. I actually knew that about myself before I even started medifast, and it's one of the reasons I joined. My days are often below 80g and that's optimal for me. YMMV..

When you start adding all those extras they sure do add up very quick. I just stay with the basics no syrup and no creamer. So hard because I loved my vanilla creamer in my coffee used to drown my coffee with it. So if I cannot do that I will just do black. Hard to believe that a little of this and a little of that will impede the weight loss but it does...

I'm guessing the serving size on your SF syrup for pancakes is 1/4 cup. How much of it you were using... I'm sure it was not a quarter cup, right? There are 4 tablespoons in a quarter cup... and 3 teaspoons in each tablespoon... so there are 12 teaspoons in the standard 1/4c serving. From there you can determine how many carbs you were getting based on the nutritional label..

Just providing information... cuz to me, knowledge is power..

Although half and half is a healthy fat option, some other coffee creamers (such as coffeemate) especially the flavored ones are pretty high in carbs. Coffeemate French Vanilla was 5g carbs/ tablespoon, but they do make a sugar free one that is only 2g carbs/ tablespoon but I haven't seen it anywhere. As usual carbs are hidden everywhere! This journey has been very eye opening for me in the sense that the more I look at labels the more I see how many carbs I was really eating before and it was scary!..

Any carbs under 100 is acceptable. I sometimes have a 60 carb day when I do 5 cold drinks/creamy soups and low carb veggies. I mix it up..

The main thing is the 5&1, and that is the crux of the program. Follow the directions and stick to the food lists. Limit your condiments and snacks and you will be fine...
