I got a quick question: Why do black names sound like products in a Vitamin Shoppe?.

I also got another question: I have been on NS now for 8 days. I would like to try the chicken salad today, but didn't receive any melba toast. Should I substitute a whole wheat bun (80 cals) or a wheat english muffin (100 cals) instead?.

Thanks!..

I hate melba toast. When I have chicken salad, a have a bag of 100 calorie Wheat Thins instead. This gives me the crunch of the toast and they taste great...

Wasa bread has a lite version that I love for the chicken salad. Here is the link. I can find it in my grocery store. http://us.wasa.com/wasa/smpage.fwx?p...ain=p roducts..

I love the chicken salad. I put it on these low calorie rice crips I get at the health food store. Im not sure if they are approved for nutrisystem but I eat them anyway...

Several of the lunch entree choices list a carb to have the food on, but NS doesnt supply the carb. In this case it's Melba Toast. I'm sure you could sustitue any low GI carb from the NS list, but you'll have to obtain that yourself like you do any other add ins...

The chicken salad is kind of mushy so some of us add chopped celery, onion, maybe some extra chicken out of the fridge. A slice of 40 calorie bread by Wonder works great!..

Hello,.

The Melba toast only had 45 calories so if you are looking for something comparable make sure your check out the nutrition label on any cracker or bread you may use.

The roll for the sandwich entrees should have no more than 120 calories and a low gi carb serving has no more than 80 calories. Hope this helps..

I may have been doing it all wrong but when I have chicken salad I eat mine between two slices of 40 cal per slice bread. I can't imagine going through life without eating chicken salad as a sandwich. Still losing weight so right or wrong this is the way I do it...

I think we have to " learn " to incoporate things into our meals that we can live with from now on. I think that this is part of the NS program, teaching us to be able to make smart choices in our everyday setting. I don't think any of us plan to make NS a permanent 100% part of our lives so we have to learn what is comparable so that we don't fall back into our old habits and gain everything we have worked so hard to lose back. I know NS has taught me so much in a short amount of time and I really think as I progress with NS I can keep this weight from coming back even when I decide to choose what I eat...

The "Old London" Melba toast (wheat) is actually good..and it is only 20 cals per piece!! I like it..it so much better than NS melba. If any of you try it let me know what you think!! I found the Old London Melba Toast in the cracker section at Walmart...top shelf...

With the Chicken Salad and Tuna Salad I prefer to put on top a tossed salad.

And eat the melba toast on the side..

I love it cold and chop up celery and onions and have on a really low fat hamburger bun half. Tastes great to me, tho at first I wasn't chilling the chicken/tuna salads and they weren't as good..

I spread it on a Wasa Light Rye crispbread. Each slice has 25 calories and no fat. It isn't as crunchy and is filling. I didn't realize the melba toast wasn't included and this was in my cupboard so it worked for me..

This has been a tough first month, with my birthday and Christmas parties, but I still managed to lose a few pounds. Small portions did the trick while eating out and I cut back severely on cocktails and wine..

Good luck and don't quit!! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!..

Hi, I would use the whole wheat bun. A bit less calories..

If you do not know, you can buy melba toast at the store. I have Old London Melba Toast (wheat) I bought it at Walmart. It's 60 calories for 3 pieces..

*Welcome to Nutrisystem!*..
