I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably can answer it..
People can be so rude and unthinking... my (previously overweight) DH was losing weight on a diet and exercise program, when his cancer recurred in his lymph nodes (he had been treated for the same cancer some years ago.) So when people asked him if he was sick (which he was asked often), he'd just say no, but in the end, it was actually cancer. Those same people must have felt pretty stupid when he had to have more cancer surgery recently (and is now getting ready for radiation.).
I'm wondering if people aren't saying anything about my weight loss for the same reason I have brain tumors and need surgery (probably this summer), and I am wondering if people just assume I'm losing weight due to the tumor..
Anyway, congrats on your weight loss, and just realize that people do say stupid things..
Nathansmom, wishing you and your hubby all the best!!..
A friend asked me if I was losing weight or if I was sick. I replied, "Both. I'm losing weight *and* I'm sick of being fat.".
Everyone I know has been very supportive, especially when they see the results. I'm having a great time and the 'NSVs' just keep coming, which makes it even more fun...
I've had the same thing...a few people were unsure whether they should mention my weight loss because they weren't sure if I was trying, or if I was sick. When they mentioned it, I said "No, please tell me!!!"..
Yep, I got that one once. We had a friend over one evening and I was around a 50 pound loss at that time. I pulled out a packet that said something about "medi" on it and he got very concerned and asked what I had that was making me lose soo much weight and that I had an entire "cupboard full of medicine". I thanked him for his concern and said that it was just a good ol' diet...
