Before I ask my question, I want to ask: What Vitamin Shoppes are selling La- Roche Possay?.

My main question is: Mom always said, "Eat your vegetables". For the most part I'm doing alright with eating fruit and veggies every day - much more than I have in the past, but I just can't seem to get in all the recommended servings per day. I am eating about 1100 - 1300 calories a day. I'm never hungry either, so I know that I'm eating enough, but now after losing 10 pounds, my weight is at a stand still..

Do you think it has to do with skipping a vegetable serving or two during the day? Any recommendations on what I can do to jump start my weight loss again? This has happened to me in the past - I plateaued and then I just quit. I'm committed to not making that mistake again, but it's not easy...

Your question was: What Vitamin Shoppes are selling La- Roche Possay?.

Gina, actually, not being hungry is not a guarantee that you are eating enough - your mind/body can play tricks on you when you are "dieting." But if you are averaging 1200 calories a day - as many days over 1200 as under - then you are probably OK. That said, you should get in all of your veggie servings. You can use low-sodium V8 juice as a sub for a veggie serving if you like. They sell it in 5.5 oz cans (35 calories) that work well for one veggie serving. I also buy the big bottles so that I can have more and sub for both veggie servings on occasion.

Do make sure you aren't eating peas and corn - those are carbs on NS. I eat a lot of vegetables, thoughthings like broccoli, green beans, cauliflower, etc. and when I do I hardly ever managed to limit myself to just a half cup of each. I know that I probably have closer to two cups of vegetables with my dinners..

How much weight do you have to lose? You may simply be at a point where your body is pausing to redistribute and adjust to the weight you have lost before it "agrees" to begin to let the pounds start dropping again. Are you checking your measurements? Are your clothes feeling a bit looser? There are a lot of things to be aware of in addition to the scale. If PamSB sees this she will post her "why the scales lie" article for you to read. Just make sure you are in fact getting in all of your nutrients every day and push on. Talk yourself into giving yourself more time to get beyond this stall.

Edit: Forgot to ask whether you are getting in any regular activity, such as walking or other exercise? If not, getting yourself moving a bit more might help. And are you drinking all your water and then some? I am becoming a true believer in the importance of water to this diet! Check out the link in my sig if you want to get an idea of what you should be taking in every day...

Thank you both for the advise and encouraging words. I'll try to changes things up a bit and add more veggies. I'm not eating peas and corn, but I have been eating a lot of carrots. I've lost 10lbs so far in 5 weeks, and have about 30 more to go. I should concentrate on that being good progress. Adding more water and more exercise I'm hoping will help too..

Thanks again!..

Hey, I've been gaining and losing the same 2 lbs for 2 months. There are a lot of factors and they are all important. I'm not crazy about vegetables either and most of the time I have one of the servings on my lunch salad (like tomatoes) because I'm just not as hungry at dinner for that much...

10 pounds in 5 weeks is good..that's an average of 2 pounds a week. You shouldn't lose more than that - the average is 1-2 unless your starving yourself (not good)...

Hey Gina, you may want to check your calories in the vegetables you choose; you know what they say..........too much of anything is no good for you :-) I always choose low fat/calorie vegetables or vegetables that have very little trace of fat. You may want to check with a NS Counselor or Dietitian to see if your calories are right for your body type. It will be good to look into it to find out what the problem may be. I was at a stable point one time, too, but I made a change in my diet and got right back on track. I hope you find out what works best for you, hang in there and stay Bless! :-)..
