I got a quick question: What stores have cheap generic prescription drugs (besides walmart)?.

I also got another question: I tried a sugar free hard candy that I wanted to share because it's soooo good..

So I thought I'd start a thread where people can list free foods that are delicious!.

Sugar Free Life Savers Butter Toffee Hard Candy. Yum! Good treat for taking to the movies too! Or for long car rides. Five candies are 45 calories, so they are nine calories a piece. If you like Werthers, you'll like these, and I like these even better than Werthers!..

Your question was: What stores have cheap generic prescription drugs (besides walmart)?.

I'm weirdI prefer using real food for my frees. I've been known to throw a few tablespoons corn or peas in a soup and count it as freejust because it's real food.

One I do like though is meringue as whipped cream (cool whip is so NOT real food). Whip one egg white until just white, then add splenda or erythritol sweetner and 1 teaspoon jello sf/ff instant pudding powder and continue to beat until it resembles whipped cream. The great thing is that most of the calories are from protein! I can split this between me and hubby on a pudding. Last night I made one pudding. I saved a fruit from dinner and sliced banana into the pudding. I gave us each a serving and sprinkled a crushed peanut butter cookie on top.

Yum!.

I was just going to ask about 'free' foods......this is my first week and i'm confused on some veggies.....can we eat unlimited celery and zucchini?.

Thanks!..

Any of the unlimited salad veggies in your menu planner are truly unlimited, such as the aforementioned zucchini and celery..

Here is a suggested list of "free foods" that was provided by NutriSystem counselors and posted by NutriSystem on the Bulletin Boards (although there was nothing about them in the information sent out by NutriSystem).

A "free food" is anything that is 20 calories or less and you can have up to 3 per day (they don't need to be with your meals, you can have them anytime). I use SF Popsicles as a snack before bed. You can eat SF Jello topped with 1 tablespoon Free Cool Whip, which is nice in the afternoon. SF Pancake Syrup is another example (most of which are 20 calories for 1/4 cup...or Walden Farms with 0 calories per serving). Just don't have all 3 at once, that would make it a carb..

FREE FOODS LIST.

There are Free Foods that can be used on the NutriSystem plan. The term Free Foods comes from the American Diabetes Association. They are low calorie foods (20 calories or less) that can be added to the meal plan in small amounts. This minimal amount of calories will not affect weight loss, but we do recommend that they be limited to 2 or 3 servings per day if the foods have any calories at all..

FOOD QUANITY.

I love the werthers coffee caramel suger free hard candies. Since I am in the car all day they help me thru the occasional urges I get for something sweet...

Hi, Starting 1/2 ..I see in the daily book it list carbs bread and such???.

Can you add that in? I have seen different post where pepole talk about eating low calorie bread. Is it allowed and if so when and how ??? Thanks for the help...

Being only a few days into the NS way of eating, I too do not understand many thingd. Such as, Can I save a salad or fruit for a different time of day??.

Thanks for any help anyone may have to offer..

If you are a woman with less than 100 lbs to lose, you only get to add carbs when the entree requires it (it'll say on the box), such as with burgers, hot dogs, chicken patty, sloppy joes, etc. When it says to add a roll, you can add any of the the low GI carbs listed (it doesn't have to be a roll/bread)...

Yes, you can eat your foods whenever it is best for you. You should be eating something every 3-4 hours, and have at least 5 meals/snacks/day...

Thank you so much for clearing the bread issue up..

I wondered the same thing about the bread when I started 3 days ago. I ended up contacting NS to ask. I couldn't find that explanation ANYWHERE!..

After reading some suggestions from Pam, I bought black cherry SF jello yesterday. You get a lot for 10 calories in one of those little cups. Loved it!!.

That's a really good free food...

Pam.

Thanks for your help. I learned a few things from your post..

How many servings of Vodka may I have with my "Diet soda unlimited"?..

Sees Candies has some SF hard candies - latte, chocolate, vanilla & caramel flavored. I like them quite a bit.....

Ooooh - now this is a great tip! Thanks!..

As far as "under 20 calories" foods, I like to use the salad dressings in the spray bottles that are 1 calorie a spray...

Pam; You are such an inspiration! Thanks for the list! I will put it to good use! Deanna..

Thanks Karma W, that is a great real food idea even when I eventually get to maintenance, sugar free meringue is a good idea to substitute for whipped cream. Maddy..

Here is a wonderful treat that makes you feel guilty to eat..but it is allowed..

In a blender, add fat free low cal yogurt (I like the Dannon vanilla), add equal portion of ice, some Splenda and a fruit (I like to add bananas). To top it off, a squirt of fat free, sugar free, Hersheys syrup. Blend until smooth and enjoy. It's like your cheating but NOT!!!..

That smoothie sounds good! I like to drink my Swiss Miss Diet Hot Chocolate. It is a bit higher than allowed in calories (25 calories a cup) but it sure does make me feel a lot better drinking it in this cold weather...

If you blend 8 oz ff milk, 7 or 8 whole unsweetened FROZEN strawberries, some Splenda (to your taste liking) and a splash of vanilla, it tastes just like the Strawberry Cream Slush from Sonic! By using the frozen strawberries, you don't have to use any ice and it doesn't get watery like some smoothies...

Uh...and now back to the delicious free foods.....

There are other recipe threads here...

Wow, soooo sorry! Didn't mean to post in the wrong place...

Oh man, thank goodness I waited until after the holidays! really? none?..

Isn't vodka made from potatoes - we may be looking at a low GI carb here...

I really like those kinds of candies, but would have a problem stopping at 2.....
