My first question is What should I fix for supper? we are on the Medifast Diet? Thanks for any comment. My 2nd question... Hi all....

I am still waiting for my food to arrive, so I have not started the program as of yet. I just have a question in the meantime..

Often, I have a cup of chicken broth (better than boullion brand) in the mid morning and mid afternoon. I started this as a means to help me get off of the coffee habit, which I have done..

I think I read somewhere that sipping broth is okay?? am I right? I can't find it again. I find it so comforting when I feel a little bit hungry, because it is warm and satisfying..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer. I'll do some investigation and get back to you if I got an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you help..

Turtle girl, I think Better Than Bouillon makes a low sodium. You may want to check that out. Although, back when I was new, I just chose to use the regular one to get me through some hard days. Now I rarely drink it, but it was a lifesaver at first...

If you get the low sodium one you mostly defeat the purpose of the broth, which is to get your salt levels back up. Switching to Medifast involves such a dramatic drop in salt intake for most people, and they can get woozy as a result. The salt in the broth corrects that..

Plus it's delicious. Unless you have a medical condition suggesting you keep away from salt, it's not per se a bad thing for you...

I skipped my Better than Bullion the day before yesterday and my blood pressure *crashed* yesterday. At first, I was just tired and dragging, then I really hit the floor..

I couldn't figure out what was wrong, but then I decided to take a shot and drank a cup of BTB. (The low BP tipped me off.).

Within 20 minutes I was starting to perk up and after an hour, I was a new woman..

I'm loosing weight well with the extra sodium, but I also drink a lot of water. Feeling well is really important to me...

That is great advice. I was only thinking of it to help get thru those in between meal times when you feel you need a little something. It didn't even cross my mind about the blood pressure. That's a really good point, considering how drastically all of the meals are cut in sodium etc, as compared to the usual foods..

These boards are truly more helpful than any books or resources out there. thanks so much..

I salt my food. Extra when I've been spending time in the bathtub or on the dance floor. On occasion I've salted my hot cocoa or brownie...

Like Freya, I salt everything. I have 4 different sea salts on my counter. I am ridiculous about it. I spend a lot of time in the gym so I need I love it..

There is not a HUGE difference between low sodium and regular sodium broths as far as sodium goes. The low sodium still packs a punch as far as salt goes. It's about 360 grams difference in swanson. It's a difference, but it's not like it makes it super low sodium..

440 mg of salt is still enough to help with low salt issues..just doesn't taste as good...
