I got a quick question: What is the best product for zit removal that is available at a local Vitamin Shoppe?.

I also got another question: I'm attending a New Year's Eve party tomorrow night and want to be able to cheat a little, but not completely blow the system. I have a plan. Some of you may think I plan on cheating too much, but it's New Years, so I'm going to let loose just a little..

It will be a fancy party... heavy hors d'oeuvres, then a steak dinner, and of course, alcohol..

I just went through my breakfast and lunch entrees and chose one from each that has the lowest calorie count... the blueberry muffins and the chicken noodle soup. I will supplement these with what I normally do because I don't want to be starving when I get to the party. But I'm going with all the lowest calorie options because for every calorie I'm saving earlier in the day, I can add later. At least that's my rationale..

I plan on avoiding the hors d'oeurves, because I'm guessing most of them will be pretty fatty... if I have any, they will be in big time moderation. I'd rather eat the steak dinner. I'm going to ask that my steak be cooked with minimal oil, butter, marinade. These are close friends, so I don't mind asking. Then as far as the alcohol goes, I plan on having a couple of drinks, but they will likely be a vodka tonic (w/ diet tonic) and maybe a rum and coke (diet coke)...

But definitely no fruity, sugary drinks. I also plan on sneaking in a glass of water every chance I get. This will cut down on my hunger and will help flush the alcohol..

I know it's not a perfect plan. The perfect plan would be to... hmm... take my NS entree to their house and stick to the diet totally? haha. Anyway, I'm going to do my best..

Any comments or suggestions?..

Your question was: What is the best product for zit removal that is available at a local Vitamin Shoppe?.

I agree have fun. I also use the lower calorie foods on days like Big Party days. I eat the breakfast absolutely according to NS, all the vegies and fruit for lunch but save the dairy/protiens from lunch and snack to go towards dinner cuz that steak will be more than enough protien. I try to add in a low sodium V-8 before leaving for dinner too. Drink tons of water all day. What you don't want is to be starving going into dinner. You know what to do, stay strong you'll be fine...

I don't think there is anything wrong with enjoying great food/drinks with friends to celebrate. While it is great to stick to the NS I plan 100%, the plan also offers great tips to stay on track without having to stay on their foods. NS understands that there are times when we can't (or decide not to) eat their foods, so they help us out with their handy dandy list in the back of the meal planner! We all are adults and I believe we will make choices that are right for us...and if we don't, then we have to live with the decision we made and work that much harder the next day!.

I personally have done what you plan on doing too! Just consider your possible choices for tonight, and try to work it in with your plan. You'll be with friends, so they'll understand your needs! Happy New Year!..

First, MndyBrdhrst, if you have made up your mind to go off, what you write seems reasonable. I just want to caution about something that struck me when I read the part of your post that I quoted above..

There will almost always been some reason (or rather excuse) to go off NS and let loose. Tonight it's New Year's Eve, which of course comes only once a year..

But then you might be invited to another party in January, or a wedding, or a shower, or there's a potluck at work, or a friend you haven't seen in a long time comes to town, etc. etc. You get my drift here. There seems to be always (or almost always) be something going on that can be used as a reason to go off the plan. If we rationalize going off every time there is a reason to do so, we never do lose.

So, I'm sorry - I don't mean to put a damper on your plan, but merely to point out that there seems to be always reasons cropping up to let loose. Just be mindful of that .....

Michelle- that was well put.

MndyBrdhrst- you have the right idea. At least you are staying away from the hors d'oeuvres and sugary drinks..

NSEater- you are so right. There are birthdays and plenty of holidays during the year.

Good luck and Happy New Years!..

Hopefully they'll have some music playing so you can dance off the calories. Offer to clean up to burn more calories. Oh, just have fun, and exercise more during the week!..
