My 1st question is: Tell me the gist of the Medifast Diet.......... why do you like it? Many thanks for any response. Another quick question... Hi, first day on Medifast first post.

I typically really really look forward to my 2 large (probably 14 oz) cups of coffee with cream every day. One in the morning, one mid afternoon. I don't think I'm going to survive without it!!! Right now it feels like I'm going to die of not having coffee. Plus, I have NO energy, and trying to homeschool my autistic and very high energy demanding son. Please tell me it gets better!..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the answer to that question. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I bump into an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could give you an answer..

Why are you suffering?.

You can have coffee.

Up to 300mg of caffeine is allowed!.

I start every morning off with hot cocoa or the cappuccino blended with hot coffee. I love it! You can also do frappes with cold coffee and shake packets...

I hadn't thought of blending the shake with coffee Arielle, thanks for that suggestion! I did try some coffee with fat free half and half and it just wasn't the same!! I'm way too particular when it comes to coffee, it has to be the exact way I Like it.

I guess this is lesson number one in learning to do things differently.

I actually was under the impression that the FF half and half was a no no and that I had cheated.

Though I only used about 2 tsp...

The first few days are rough for most people; you'll definitely feel better once you get through them..

A lot of people mix their shakes or hot drinks (or soft serve) with coffee, or use either the vanilla shake or pudding as a "creamer" (and then obviously be sure to eat the rest of the packet as one of your meals later.) And you can use 2 tablespoons of regular half and half as a Healthy Fat, if you account for it in your day. Just keep in mind caffeine may affect you more when you're taking in such a low number of calories, and be sure to keep up your water intake..

Eta: Fat free half and half has added carbsI personally prefer to stick to the real thing in a small serving (I usually use about 1 tsp at this point)...

Thanks redjubilee that's helpful! yeah I'd rather have just a tad of real half and half I think.......

I've been blending my morning cup with the choc mint soft serve. Seriously good..

Just noticed that jubs already said that. I need more coffee.....

Fat free half and half is much higher in carbs. I use regular half and half in my coffee and count it as either a condiment or healthy fat (depending on what I'm eating for the rest of the day)...

This is right,,always check fat free nutritional labels. Generally whatever they sub for flavor when removing the fat is higher carb..

I never had the coffee issue, as I drink mine black, except when I needed a meal, then I stirred the cap or the HC into my coffee. Back when I did 5/1, the only grab and go option was the one a day green wrapper bar,,,,so I stirred lots of meals into coffee while on the go. whatever worked,,right?..

No one takes my coffee away from me!!! LOL This is what works for me and tastes yummy!.

My Medifast breakfast : Add one Medifast Ready-To-Drink French Vanilla Shake to brewed coffee. No creamers, no sweetener needed. I drink this every morning..

Try the Medifast will soar above the altitude any coffee sent you.

Wow!!! are they strong, as far as caffeine and energy-inducing...

Luckily Coffee is not my problem. DIET COKE is!!! I gave up coffee a couple weeks ago, but the way you are all describing it with the vanilla shake sounds good. I might trysome coffee again!..

My very favorite all-time movie line for coffee lovers/addicts:.

The RTDs are yummy in coffee too. Reminds me of getting a soy latte at Starbucks.

I also bought one of those little battery operated frothers for some added fun and better mixing.

Lol@ your YouTube clip! I think that would qualify as someone who's had a little too much..

I have disciplined (NOT EASY!!!!!) myself to use a small 4-6 oz mug (Fireking Blue Jadeite, it is super pretty!) mug for my morning coffee. I weigh out 30 grams of REAL half and half, put a packet of splenda in, and then pour the coffee to the top. It is the perfect color for me, but I DID have to retire my mega-mugs!.

The mug I have was popular and was considered a "normal" serving size back in the 40's and 50's, when serving sizes were much more reasonable. I just find it makes the PERFECT cup and I'd rather have one PERFECT cup than not..

The next cup, sadly, is black. But we do what we have to do. Thank goodness for Medifast Cappuchinos, and Medifast Mocha Shakes!..

Totally appreciative of all of these tips! I just drank a small bit of coffee with a tsp of half and half. It may just keep me sane today.

I drink... well, I drink a LOT of coffee. A lot. I cut myself off at 3PM so I can sleep, then hook up the IV as soon as I'm awake..

I drink it black and it doesn't seem to be hurting anything. I'm loosing weight just fine and I feel good..

BUT, everyone has a different body. What works for one, may not work for all. Just because I can ingest a kiddie pool of coffee every day and not have issues, doesn't mean that everyone can...

My first day on MF, (4 whole days ago!) I mixed hot coffee with a prepared cappuccino. I did not replace the water with coffee. At the time (again, Day 1) I thought it was barely palatable. I tried it with a vanilla shake, but that was worse because I don't love vanilla in my coffee..

Now, 4 days later, I wake up looking forward to my morning capp/coffee combo. It might not be as delish as my coffee/splenda/creamer from before MF, but I don't really rmember what that tastes like anyway....

However, someone (sorry, can't remember who) suggested hot cocoa with coffee. I'm just waiting on my next box! Mocha frappe here I come!..

Now that's it's warming up I get to have my favorite thing to start my day.....

1cup of cold coffee blended with the dark chocolate shake and then I blend it with ice in my bullet blender... really gets me going!..

This thread was SO helpful to me today! I really felt better after having just that small bit of coffee, it made me feel like I was going to survive my first day, and I have! not nearly as bad as I thought it would be!.

Thanks for all the help!..

The first few days are rough as your body gets into ketosis, but you'll be amazed at how easy it gets. I was amazed at the lack of hunger (although there will be some hungry days, but you'll look forward to those!) and the energy I've had..

Ditto to this, except I use the Dutch Chocolate shakes. Also, buying good quality coffee instead of that mud at the grocery store makes ALL the difference...

I have lived on coffee through the past few months - mostly decaf though, real coffee makes me pretty jittery. I mix it with everything - pudding, shakes, soft serve. Somehow the hot coffee was very soothing and filling to me and helped me to stay on plan. Now that it's getting warmer I'm moving back into shake mode. I like to freeze coffee in ice cube trays and use it to make my chocolate or vanilla shakes. Its like a yummy frappuccino...

I tried blending mine with pudding and shakes but I like it mixed with hot chocolate and sometimes sugar free raspberry syrup best! I tried the first few days without coffee but that's too much of a drastic change with the decrease in calories AND the lack of caffeine! Keep experimenting until you find the best substitute for you...Good luck!..

I have continued to drink coffee and I drink more than 300mg of caffeine. I am not very sensitive to caffeine so I dont get the jitters. I make my coffee and I use the following Medifast products in place of using milk or cream: cappuccino, vanilla shake, chocolate shake, mocha shake or a hot cocoa. Just mix the shake as you would if you were to drink the shake but instead use it in your cuppa joe as you would your milk..

Drinking coffee has not had a negative effect on my weight loss. I lost 87lbs in 8 months. I do also drink a lot of water...

I drink coffee every morning and mix it with the Medifast cappuccino and add two tablespoons of regular half & half. The fat-free H&H has more carbs in it. I get my caffine fix and my Medifast meal at the same time - love it!!..

Vanilla shake with 1/2 Tbs instant coffee & 2 ice cubes in my bullet blender fixes me right up! (I feel like if I brew the coffee, I'll start heaping sugar in it, so I stick to instant)..

I am bummed. I just realized I over did the half and half yesterday because of what my lean was (chicken breast). I had two HF servings instead of just the one. Ugh, I thought I did so well yesterday.

This morning I had cold coffee with the vanilla shake and it was really good!..

Is the coffee mixed with a vanilla shake really filling? It sounds like a good idea!..

How is choc mint blended with coffee good... that just sounds like a bad mix of flavors??..
