No.....we lose at the same rate as anyone's just that our goal weights tend to be higher...

I am 5'7" and I think I lose too fast...i have never heard of the tall people theory. interesting..

I am 5'9" and I have lost at an average rate - I wish it was true though!..

I'm 5'10" and my average is 2.5 pounds per week so far. I've been on plan about 40 weeks and have lost 100 pounds. I've been happy with this rate of weight loss. 2.5 per week was what I was hoping for when I started..

I'm 5'11" and if you take out the first week, I have been losing at an average of 3.3 lbs for 10 weeks. I am pretty happy with that and hope it takes a while before my loss starts to slow down. I also have 100+ to lose so that might make a difference...

I'm 5'9" and have been losing about 3.5 lbs a week on average. I'm happy with it and I think it's pretty fast but I had a very high starting weight. I think it has more to do with your starting weight than height - if you have a higher starting weight you will tend to lose more quickly...

Interesting theory. I'm 5'8 and lost at a rate of 3.4/week. Of course, I also stayed OP, which served me well...

Yeah I agree with the higher starting weight comments. I was just surprised about the height comment so it boils down to we are all different and will lose at different rates..

It's sort of true. The larger you are (height, weight, etc...) the more calories your body burns just sitting there, staying alive all day long. So people who are taller, naturally weigh more and burn more calories at a sitting rate. It's the same philosophy why folks who are much bigger, tend to lose at a faster rate, but the more you lose, the less calories you burn, just staying alive, so naturally, the less calories you burn when maintaining the same calorie intake day in and day out, the loss will slow down over time. Hopefully it makes sense....

I'm 5'8" and I lose 2-3 lbs a week. I stick to the program 100% - that definitely helps.

Good luck, everyone!..

I'm 5'9". I havn't figured out my average....but I will as soon as I post this so I can see my siggy..

3.65!! WOW! I didn't realize that was what I was averaging. If you take out the first two weeks though...then it's 2.8. Still not bad..

I am 5'8" and average about 2.5 pounds a week. I have, however, had a few planned off program weekends (didn't go crazy just didn't do MF) and my average still works out. I've got the details in my signature if that helps..

I should add it is helpful to see others who are as tall as me but further along in the process on here. I think I weighed 142 in 9th grade and that seems way to slim for my frame. I was 160 most of the time before I had my kids and gained it all so I think that is my happy weight. We'll see when I get closer!..

AWESOME Responses ladies. We should start a Tall Gurls thread..

I really want to be able to say that I have been on the plan for about 40 weeks and have lost 100+ pounds. Do you realize how good that sounds and looks to someone like me that is still in the early stage? THANK YOU!!!!..

Love this thread, I am 5'9", will give you my weight on Saturday, my 2 month mediversarry..

I love all of the research that you do as well...

MSMISTRONG1 : Thanks for that! It does seem amazing to say I've lost 100 pounds in 10 months! (I weigh everyday so I know I've hit 100 even though my ticker says 99). When I started in March I was really hoping I'd be finished with the weight loss phase within 12 months. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'll make it. I can definitely tell that the closer I get to goal the weight loss has slowed down.
