So I've been on Nutrisystem since March... and had slow but steady weight loss that I am very happy with. For the first time in my life, I feel like I am making LIFESTYLE changes that I can stick with.

Currently, my size 12 pants are a too big... and my size 10 pants are still a little snug.

Regardless, I've gone through all of my pants and have placed the ones that are too big in a box for goodwill (taking them in just a few minutes).

While I am excited by my weight loss, I have this strange feeling of anxiety... like I am losing a major security blanket. These pants have been in a box all week, and I keep looking at them thinking 'should I really let them go?'.

The answer is of course I should.. there is no reason to hold onto the past! Still.. it's a very strange mix of emotions..

Anyone else experienced this??..

Your question was: Should I get rid of old clothes during Nutrisystem?.

I get a serious thrill when I give my aunt clothes that are now too big for me, but are really nice and look really good on her. This lady works very hard for a living but has a very small income. She now wears my previously very special store brands, and I thrive on getting fitted stuff from thrift stores..!.

There is no separation from your clothes, so long as there is no waste in shedding your old "skin", in preparation for the new one..

Stay strong. The trip, I am finding, is delicious. I do believe the destination is really this trip..!.

Well- I am a bit different than most. Due to multiple injuries and a medication- I gained alot of weight. I was SOOO glad I had saved my pants over the years. I have them in a "bin"- one you see for X-mas decorations with a lid. I have them marked in sizes- work jeans and nice ones. I went from a 29/30 to 34.

Things happen in life and you can get an unjury and gain alot of weight not being able to work out, pigging out out of depression, etc. SO unless you have a fair amount of money- I would save them. I know it may be exciting to pitch them or donate them- but it sucks having to buy them again later on too..

Congrats on the weight loss!!..

I'm a mix between the two. Items that I wasn't in love with, I donate right away. Those that I just love or think I look great in, I put in a bin. Sometimes I put them on and enjoy the fact that I have changed size. It's the same way I saved the clothes from when I was smaller. I just loved them so I can't wait until I can fit in them again..

Good Luck - I know you'll find the best decision for yourself...

I have made a donation to a community outreach thrift store and have made a separate donation to Goodwill. (Some of these items were purchased at the thrift store and some were simply donated back to them) I have started working on my 3rd donation collection now..

It is unbelievable to be giving away clothes that were in the closet because I had outgrown them and are now too big.

Those who have alot of weight to lose should consider shopping at these type stores because there is no sense paying full retail price for something you are going to shrink out of..

I have 1 pair of pants that I kept that is way too big as a reminder of what I was and I have several country t-shirts from concerts that I can't replace but I keep washing them in HOT water praying they will shrink...
