Here is the recipe that I copied off of the other message board. At the end is an additional comment that I copied from Eileen. It is a very good recipe..

Eileens Orange Chicken: tsp. Crystal Lite Orange drink, powder tsp. garlic tsp. ginger Red pepper flakes (to taste) Pinch pepper 1 Tbsp. olive oil 1 Tbsp. rice vinegar 1 Tbsp.

Sesame oil tsp. soy sauce (or to taste) 7-9 oz. chicken diced cup onion, chopped cup bell pepper, chopped cup chopped cabbage (or bean sprouts or other veggie) Mix together all ingredients except chicken and veggies until smooth. Spray some oil in a non-stick pan and heat. Cook chicken a few minutes then add veggies and continue cooking until chicken is cooked through.

(I would use the olive oil to stir fry rather than in the sauce.) Makes 1 meal..

(I also used Newman's Light Ginger and Sesame dressing and marinated some shrimp. I really think that next time I want Orange Chicken I'm going to try using that dressing and just add some Orange Crystal Lite and sweetener to it. I bet it will be very close to my recipe and so much easier and quicker.)..

Hi All,.

Thanks for the recipe! I will try it.

Where can I find rice vinegar, is it with the regular vinegar?..

Should be with regular vinegar and cooking oils in your grocery store. If you don't see it with regular vinegar, try the asian section of your store (usually says "seasoned rice wine vinegar" or something to that effect). You can also find it at Trader Joe's, Smart & Final, and anywere else that sells cooking supplies...

Thanks Brandi...I found it, you were right it was with the oriental foods in the grocery store. Haha...of course I forgot the ginger so I guess this recipe will be on hold for a little bit more until I can get that!..

Just made the orange chicken for the second time and I must say it is REALLY good. This time I actually added Newmans Lite Asian dressing and cut back on some of the other liquid ingredients. Also at the end I put it all in the broiler to kind of get that semi-glaze texture. So good! YUM!..

I made the orange chicken with the shortcut Eileen had mentioned- the Newmans Asian Sesame dressing- and it was great! First I sauteed some small chopped onions, green bell peppers, and mushrooms until tender (these counted as about 1/2 c. of my 1&1/2 c. green) then added a little bit of the "sauce"- I used one serving of the dressing but watered it down becuse it really is quite sweet on it's own. Removed the veggies from the pan and saute/seared my chicken with a little more of the sauce, and finally added back in the veggies and 1 c of shirataki noodles (the rest of my 1&1/2 c green) which I had pre-soaked. I let it all kind of simmer, fry, etc for a few minutes tossing regularly and it was fabulous!.

-My trick for the shirataki noodles: First I drain the liquid they come in and put them in a bowl. Then run a little warm water over them swishing with my fingers at the same time, I do this a few times to rinse them. Finally I put even warmer water- almost hot- over them and allow to sit and pre-soak before adding them to my pan...

WOW this sounds great! I went digging for recipes and glad I made it back to page 7 and found this! I already have that newmans dressing, I love it on my salads so will try this method. Thanks!..
