Hi everyone, quick 1st question: Online Vitamin Shoppe EU?.

My 2nd question is: Anyone else having trouble with the cup lunches exploding in the microwave? I lost half of my lunch today because the lid flew off, the cup tipped over and the food poured out all over my microwave.

This isn't the first time this has happened. It's so annoying!..

Your question was: Online Vitamin Shoppe EU?.

I've had that happen to me ... and like you I was out 1/2 my lunch... I now pour it out of the container & throw the lid away .....instead I nuke it in a microwaveable bowl & have not experience the cover explosion... I have also blown up my oatmeal, caked the microwave in plastic eggs, decimated the interior with sauce etc etc etc ... now everything goes on the stove or in a microwaveable bowl ... much neater..

I noticed new directions on one of the Advanced cans I heated a few days ago. (Can't remember the entre.) It stated to heat at 50% power. When I heated it there was no noise or "shaking" from the can. I did need to put it back in and nuke it a little longer though. Turned out good without a mess...

I heat mine 30 seconds, stir, heat 30 seconds, stir, heat 30 seconds...

I pour mine into another bowl and cover with a paper towel. I rarely cook anything in the NS package...

I've had that problem too, so I heat for 30 seconds, then another 30, then another, watching all the time. If the can "jumps" (which amuses the hell out of my coworkers), then I stop it for a few seconds and re-start...

Yep, happens to me all the time. I have learned to dump it into a bowl and cover w/ a paper towell and then microwave...

I watch for the "jumping" container too - and if I "forget" and walk away from the microwave and it starts "jumping" I start talking to it as I run back to "open the door"........now THAT is funny...

I saw that someone mentioned an Advanced can. Are the Advanced foods available now?..

You guys crack me up...thanks for the laugh today.

Helen...just a shout out to you, girl. We started about the same time and are both quickly approaching goal. AWESOME JOB!!! I know you're feeling as good as I am right about now...

I put the cans in a larger plastic container.. Even if they jump - and they don't really - the larger container keeps it standing upright...

Thanks! I'm actually thinking about making my goal a couple of pounds lower! Don't know if I could actually GET to 135 - that would be 8 pounds to go. It would give me a little "float" for when I get back to eating non NS..

I'm surprised how quickly the time has flown! And every day seems to be a NSV. I'm wearing clothes now that I haven't been able to wear in years. My butt is noticably flatter (altho, sadly, so are my boobs which weren't that substantial to begin with!)..

I'm never bored with the food, I'm always full after I eat. Still fighting the boredom eating urge, and it's hard to resist sweets at work but I'm trying. Like today, I took one small piece of candy instead of one of the Dunkin Donuts they had, so that made me feel good..

And I've made some friends here too which has been the added bonus! I look at folks like Jazzy, Hulahoowho, Ijustwanttolive and they had so much more to lose than me. if THEY can do it, I have no business b*tching, ya know? It's taken them a long time to lose significant amounts of weight, and if they can do it so can I!..

Yes, the order I received last week had all Advanced entres except for the pancakes, eggs, and other ones that come in the cardboard cup. So far I am noticing only positive changes in the taste. But have noticed the nutritional stats for some things (especially desserts) are not as good. Some have more fats, cals, and/or sodium...

I tried to make a peanut butter cup out of my NS chocolates and burt my chocolates. I am so mad at myself. I waiting sooooo long for those darn chocolates...

I just spoke to a counselor tonight they will be available on 12/17.....

I use two damp paper towels to cover the oatmeal or the paper cups. And microwave in bursts. I've learned you can't just follow the instructions or just walk away and let it cook. I also never plan on making the paper cup lunches at work. I make at home and take to work in a plastic container...

You add hot water to the paper cups, microwave the oatmeal in a large bowl.

I use a 4cup...

I got alot of advanced foods with my very first order, which was the end of November. Everything you say about the exploding food is correct tho. I also had to start putting the food into a microwavable container and cook it that way. It's no fun being the only one who cleans the microwave at work because I'm the only one making a mess!!..

Yep try.

1 - reduce power and cook longer.

2 - cook 1/2 or less of the directed time & stir, then finish cooking.

3 - put into another, larger container & cover with paper towel (or not).

Thing is that if it cooks too fast, it expands and there's your explosion, cutting power or cooking less & stir in the middle distributes the heat and minimizes the chance of ka-boom.
