A couple of posts on here got me to thinking - maybe we could start a thread for products we wish Medifast made....

For instance - someone suggested an unflavored oatmeal to make pizza crusts, pitas, or other bread type recipes without the sweetness - BRILLIANT! We could also add our own flavorings to it (Da Vinci or Torani syrups etc) for variety in the oatmeal.

Others I remember reading about were for muffins or cookies (premade or in a pouch to be made) lemon pudding, peanut butter shakes etc.

Anyone else have anymore brilliant ideas? Let's hear 'em!..

Forget calling it an unflavored oatmeal, how about jump right to an unflavored "bread" base which has some mixture of Medifast eggs and oatmeal-like properties?..

I've often wondered why Medifast doesn't expand their variety especially since there are other similar weight loss products out there with more choices, such as Chocolate Mint Pudding, Lemon Chiffon Pudding, Sloppy Joe mix, Plain Oatmeal, Nacho Cheese Pasta, just to name a few. You would think Medifast would try to compete and also give their customers greater variety! Would be nice! ...

I would love, love, love to have plain oatmeal. I find the flavored ones are just too sweet to eat as intended, although the maple brown sugar does make an awesome pancake!..

I've said this before...How about a sticky bun cinammon bar, and a nacho bar, and maybe french onion soup, or spumoni shake? or dark chocolate cherry shake....can you tell I'm hungry? or grits?.....

Diane..

This thread is a great idea- keep your ideas coming we are listening!..

Okay, now that PD is watching/listening....in addition to all the other ideas mentioned above...how about Bacon-Cheese Flavored Eggs, Chocolate Coconut Bar, Chocolate Almond Pudding or Shake, Cream of Mushroom Soup, Tropical Fruit Smoothie Shake, Cookies n Cream Shake, Caramel Pudding and I could go on, but I better stop now!!.

No, Wait! How about offering a Variety Box such as different flavors of pudding or shakes or oatmeal in a 7 packet box?? PLEEEEEEEEZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ..

A dulce de leche bar (caramel yum!), pizza flavored soy crisps, granola (made from the oatmeal base), key lime bars, chocolate caramel and chocolate cherry shakes, mushroom soup, onion soup, shrimp gumbo soup ... just for starters!..

I wonder if they can make a clam or corn chowder? They already make cream soups, so why not chowder?..

Oh man, have you guys come up with some awesome ideas! Maybe PD could pick some that they like and do a poll to see what the most popular ideas are and work on making them happen - wouldn't that be cool!?..

I love the "bread base" idea. I know it is possible, as my friend does a weight loss plan through a hospital, and she has a mix that she can make pancakes (uses ff/sf instant pudding to flavor) or it can be made into pizza crusts. I love the idea of assortment boxes also. Could try more things without investing in a whole box. Cream of mushroom soup, now that has all kinds of recipe possiblities!.

PLEASE, PD, make us some new food choices...PLEASE!!!..

Great Ideas!! HOw about putting some of the recipes on the boxes! I have started my own recipe file but it would be nice to have some on the product. Keeps everything interesting and keeps us "wanna be chefs" happy about being able to construct something with food! Lots of good ideas to pull from on the site!..

Something that I used to love from one of those low carb places was mousse. They had chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry and they whipped up to a lovely featherweight texture. Something like that would be good..

And if we could have flan or custards. Yum...

Awesome thread...i just wanna ask for more convenience...hehe. More pre-packed, pre-made items would be truly appreciated...being a student and a full-time worker...there are times when I really need something to grab and go...like I love the bars...but too bad it's only a one-a-day thing...

I think someone mentioned muffins...ohhh man...would I stock up on those!!..

I would LOVE to have an un-sweetened bread base or plain oatmeal! There are so many possibilities that we could do with it. I'd also love to see pre-made muffins, cookies, that kind of thing. It would make staying on program while traveling much easier! And it seems like I spend an hour or more every night making my Medifast recipes...

Here's what I'd love to see:.

Lemon Pudding.

"Bread" base or plain oatmeal (something that will make the pancakes and cookies a little fluffier....

Anything pre-made (muffins, cookies, brownies, etc.).

Cream of Mushroom soup.

PASTA!!!.

Definitely the assortment boxes - especially bars and oatmeal!.

And I would be in heaven if Medifast could create popcorn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

Noodles-not that shirataki poo.

Bread bases.

Crunchy things.

Bacon something or other.

Buttery things.

Cadbury Eggs (just seeing if your paying attention)..

Cream of Mushroom soup... could add legal veggies on our own for cream of veggie.

Cheesy main dish Medifast meal maybe cauliflower (FD) with cheesy sauce..

Vegetable soup or chicken veggie ...NOT the minestrone! That is inedible!.

Cracker type bread/flatbread. Whole grain preferred..

UNflavored Medifast oatmeal or mixed grain cereal (including flax?)Without any medicinal taste.

MF small tortillas.

Bread mix/plain oatmeal. Or 'pizza bread shells' savory flavored..

Cookies (similar to Dixie Diner cookies or shortbread type).

Peanut butter cookies.

Portable cookies in a bag, like the snacks. Medifast meal. As opposed to bars. No weird waxy coatings/drizzle on the cookies. That is a big turnoff on the bars.

Variety packs of shakes, puddings, etc...

I have never bought the bars, never been tempted, but if Medifast got rid of some of the bar flavors that most people don't like and instead, offered a simple cookie in a couple of different flavors, that would be cool. A chocolate wafer, a peanut butter wafer, and a butter cookie.

I love the idea of a sample box for each of the types of food. 7 different shakes (or soups or whatever) in one box would allow me to try each without a huge cost.

And yeah, some type of Medifast acceptable bread thing would be nice, preferrably a mix that we could use to make either tortillas, crackers, bread, pita, or even (with a little sweetner) a pie crust. Thats not asking for too much is it? LOL.

Paulette..

CHOCOLATE!! I'd be happy with a small square of sugar-free dark chocolate (like the 1 inch squares sold by Hershey) Being a Philly girl, I also miss pretzels..

OOOHHHH...a Mushroom or onion soup for baking...you know...throw it in the crockpot or oven over some chicken. Also...I'm dying for a peanut butter shake!! This thread is AWESOME..

I LOVE all the ideas... BUT I think that if Medifast developed sooo many products, they wouldn't be Medifast any longer.... they would be more like Jenny Craig.... and I'd rather have Medifast than Jenny any day.........

Just my thoughts......

Kazie..

I think the added options would be a huge help for those of us who need to be on the program for a long period of time. It would sure help with boredom. Some things we can create ourselves, but a bread/tortilla base, a couple more soup options and lemon pudding would sure make my weight loss journey more interesting! Ummmm, oinion soup!..

Here is my suggestion and it's not food-.

A Medifast catheter. LOL. Im tired of getting up 6 times in the night to go potty. Just a thought. LOL!!!..

Oh YUMMErs!!! A peanut butter shake, a caramel creme shake, a dark chocolate/cherry shake, Key lime ANYTHING....Lemon pudding....butterscotch pudding...cookies 'n cream ANYTHING... wow....I really wonder what they're actually dreaming up in product development at this time....

I would love for them to come up with a 100 calorie bar. Some days I am on.

The run and bars would be so much easier than dragging along muffins or.

Worrying about finding somewhere to heat up soup or oatmeal.

Personally, I refuse to do the cookies. I am trying very hard to develop new.

Habits along the way and for me (not judging anyone else) one alternative is.

Not grabbing a few cookies to eat. That's what got me here in the first place.

I justify the bars in my mind because there are so many other healthy bar.

Options out there and I am in the habit now of eating 5 small meals a dayl.

Please MF, find us something in a lower calorie form, pretty please..

Ladies, I think the problem with Medifast manufacturing & selling products like the muffins & brownies we bake at home, is because of preservatives that come with packaging food. By the time they got to us, they'd be stale. I think they'd wind up like the bars, more calories and stuff to make them last longer. Its a great idea...but just think...when you bake, you can lick the bowl & it's NOT cheating!..

I would love to see some sort of crunch cereal!!..

Darn!! Someone already suggested peanut butter shakes. How about a old fashion tomato based veggie soup with the meat from the chili. It be like Mom use to make. Or, an old fashion chicken noodle with carrots and celery with the chicken from the wild rice soup. If you can put noodles in the minestrone how about a miniture egg noodle for the old fashion chicken noodle??? What about some new flavors for the oatmeal?? Strawberries 'n' cream, or bananas 'n' cream, that would be good and helpful with the baking too. How about a cheese soup?? Would be good for recipes and delicious by itself.

Some sort of baked chips. Anything bitesized to crunch on, sweet or salty. The shrimp gumbo sounds delish too. Man, I could go on and on, can you tell I'm hungry??..

OOOoooo Kathy! I love the cheese soup idea - endless recipe/sauce ideas come to mind. Also, cream of mushroom would be good too. Wow, y'all are coming up with some good ones! How 'bout it PD? Pick the ones you think you could make Medifast legal and poll us to see what we want the most!..

If I had to pick one thing it would be the variety pack. I hate buying a box of something that taste awful and then trying to figure out something to make it edible. I do agree that after 3 months I am kinda bored with the choices at this point. I still have a ways to go...
