Since we are allowed to use low fat/low carb salad dressing ... is it OK to you 1 to 2 tbs. of lite mayo on tuna?..

I don't think so. Not sure why but I am pretty sure Nutrisystem has said no before. Did you try a search on teh nutrition boards? Maybe you can find out why......

Btw, love the name!..

Too high in fat (pout). I'm going to whip up the "Mock Mayo" recipe that I have in my collection, today, and I'll let you know how it compares. It's made with Tofu, so it's more protein and less fat..

I hope it's decent because I've also got new recipes using the mock mayo to make "Miracle Whip" and "Bloomin' Onion Sauce." Cross your fingers.....

You know, I have used 1-2 T of the bottled Hidden Valley Ranch light in my tuna, to make tuna salad and it was pretty yummy- and I am a mayonnaise girl!..

Hellmann's/Best Foods puts out a mayo that uses canola oil which Nutrisystem approved recently. I use it when making tuna salad. When you add up fat, calories, and carbs, it comes out perfect...

They approved the mayo???.

The canola oil (1-2 teas.) has been approved as a condiment for a while, along with olive and sesame oil (love toasted sesame oil on grilled veggies....MMM!)..

Nutrisystem said (in another forum):.

Mayo should be low fat and low in carbohdyrates. I would recommend not using it all the time. If it is going to be used it should be in place of the salad dressing portion..

WOO-HOO!!! More possibilities! Crab cakes (use Medifast crackers)! Deviled eggs??? This boggles the mind!!!.

BTW, I made some of the mock mayo (made with tofu), yesterday, and it's not bad (more later). But I'm gonna keep playing with it. I'm making some yogurt cheese, as I type, and I think adding a bit of it to the recipe will result in a yummy, healthy spread..

The quirky one,.

I bought the Kraft Lite Mayo. There is 1g carb per serving, 45 calories and 4.5g fat. Which is 1/2 of the regular mayo. I am assuming that is what nutrition is talking about to use once in a while? I saw the Hellmans/Canola oil version and although it has O carbs it has twice the fat and calories as the lite mayo. Anyone know if this is okay? Crab cakes, with Medifast crackers, sounds yummie...
