Question I have... Jenny Craig, Medifast, and Weight Watchers? Thanks in advance for any answer. Another question on my mind: Hey everyone,.

Although it's not noticeable to anyone but me (since I'm the one who has to clean out my hairbrush every morning), my hair has been coming out more than usual over the past month or so. I know that's normal with the plan, and started taking Biotin to help stave it off..

But how much do I take? I have the Nature's Bounty High Potency Biotin, which is 1000 mcg. The recommended dosage is 1 to 5 capsules a day and I'm currently taking 2 and have been for about a week. Haven't noticed a difference yet. Is that dosage too little? Any input would be much appreciated!.

Thanks!.

Stephanie..

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some Googling and get back to you if I discover an useful answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

Also I took 5000mcg a day and the loss stopped...if you are on thyroid meds you should also have that checked, they may need to be adjusted......

Hair loss can be caused by any rapid weight loss program. Many members on Medifast who do not have thyroid issues DO have the hair loss. While having the thyroid checked is a valid suggestion (an am one with no thyroid), the cause is more than likely weight loss. Biotin is a supplement that is not going to hurt her. It will definitely help strengthen both her hair and her nails and will certainly help reduce the hair loss..

California Chick - I take the super biotin (5000 mcg) twice a day and it is working beautifully...

This is what I take, as well, and I must say my nails are awesome now! I already have pretty thin hair and was really worried about losing more, but so far I haven't seen much of a difference in the amount of loss...

Yeah... it is most likely not your thyroid. If you had no hair loss problems before Medifast but now you do... This diet WILL make you lose hair. Fortunately, once you are at goal and on your own consuming more calories and fat, your body will allow your hair to grow again. I grew my hair back in the 6 months I took a break..

I take 5 mg (5000 mcg) of Biotin daily. When I was actively MF'ing the first time around, I didn't notice it slowing any hair loss but it's a great vitamin to consume. It certainly won't hurt anything and it might slow the loss for you...

I take 1000mcg cause my hairdresser says anything more than that really doesn't do any additional good...

I am so glad to find this post... I have been wondering how much to take!..
