Before I ask my question, I want to ask: Is there someplace I can order insulin online for a lower price than regular Vitamin Shoppes?.

My main question is: I was just looking at the Protein section of my guide and I'm big on a lot the things suggested. I do like milk and yogurt but what have you found that works.....anyone have any other items that are allowable?.

Thanks,.

Cathy..

Your question was: Is there someplace I can order insulin online for a lower price than regular Vitamin Shoppes?.

I almost always use milk as my protein serving. I have a latte almost every day..

Otherwise, I will have.

String cheese.

Small tuna can.

Morning star veggie sausage patty.

1/2 a boca burger.

1/2 a Zone bar.

Other times I will cook up some chicken breast, and use that for a few days. I add chopped chicken to the cheesy potatoes for lunch...

I got some turkey bacon that has 80 calories, 2 grams of fat, and 12 grams of protein in a 4-slice serving. Can't wait until breakfast...

NutriSystem makes no distinction between dairy and protein on the under 60 year old women's and men's program (they are interchangeable). The stats you need to meet are: no more than 100 calories per serving (but you can go up to 120 calories once a day for yogurt, per Mary Gregg, the NutriSystem dietitian), no more than 3g fat, no less than 7g protein..

Some examples:.

1 package NutriSystem Soy Chips or 17 Genisoy Chips.

1/3 cup edamame beans or 2 Tablespoons Roasted Edamame.

2 FF or 97% FF hot dogs.

String cheese.

Cottage cheese (1/4 cup regular or 1/2 cup FF).

Boca Burger.

Morningstar Farms products.

Milk.

Soy milk.

Tuna.

Crab.

Salmon.

Shrimp.

Lunch meats.

Boiled egg.

(Note: Mary Gregg does also state that if women are choosing soy milk or more protein options than dairy, women should also take a calcium supplement.).

This comes from the e-classes with Mary Gregg and e-mails from Mary Gregg and NutriSystem...

Wow, Jonboy...what brand is that? Those are great stats for turkey bacon!..

I have Oscar Meyer and for 3 slices it's 105 calories, 9g of fat and 6 g of protein...I LOVE turkey bacon...give it up Jonboy! Tell us what you have...It will make my eggs taste SOO much better!..

JennyO is 20 calories per slice for turkey bacon..

Must be the same brand as JonboyDC, it has 3gr. protein per slice so 4 slices would equal 12 gr. protein..

It only has 5 fat calories to boot!!!!!!..

You can't use that on NS...the stats don't fit for a protein..

Less than 100 cal, AND less than 3g fat, AND at least 7g protein...

Mine is Wellshire Turkey Peppered Bacon the nutrition info lists a serving size as one piece, with 20 calories, .5 g fat, and 3 g protein. I got it at a Whole Foods in DC not sure how widely available the brand is...

3g fat is the limit for a protein...5fat calories, or grams?.

I can't ever find the JennyO bacon here...lunchmeat, but no bacon...

Shoot, I was at WF yesterday...I'll have to check for it my next visit. Thanks for the info!..

5 calories from fat would be about .5 grams of fat, which is what the Wellshire turkey bacon has per slice. (As I understand it, a gram of fat has 9 or 9.5 calories)...

Just got some buffalo jerky at Trader Joe's today...Yum-mo! I use a wide variety of dairy and proteins...milk, yogurt, cheese, fish, lean beef, chicken, turkey, deli ham, Any Whey protein powder, Pure Protein shakes and bars...and the list goes on...
