Before I ask my question, I want to ask: Is there any benzyl peroxide gel (2.5%) that I can buy in Vitamin Shoppe? What is it called?.

My main question is: I haven't even received my food I ordered yet and already I am sweating bullets after reading all these posts! I have dieted with Weight Watchers for a while but I feel like I am thinking about food and numbers and points and numbers and servings and points ALL THE TIME!! I thought I would try the NS system so I wouldn't have to think so much...with 3 kids I don't have the time or energy. I thought I would just eat my required meals...drink the water and supplement with a few fruit and veggies. Do I HAVE to count my calories and grams of everything across the board in order for this system to work? No offense to NS, but for the cost of the program and food I would hope that I could just eat what they send me and lose some weight. HELP!!! Is there anyone out there that just eats the food, drinks the water and doesn't need a calculator all day to succeed?..

Like lori said...you don't have to count if you don't want to.

That's the great thing about ns...you just check each item off in your planner each day and you are good to go. there are some of us who prefer to keep track of everything (also, I had a special circumstance when I began that I had to add even more food than allowed because of my high starting weight), but you don't have to...you just need to do what works for YOU!!!.

At least for me, I count so I can learn how to live off of NS...it's a personal decision...

I became a NS member for the ease of the program. As a teacher that works long days, I am on the go and out of the house for all of my meals until dinner time.

In the beginning I just followed and recorded my NS Foods and add ons in the meal planner, read the NS Discussion Boards for food ideas as they came along, and made great progress for the first three months doing it this way.

As I continue my journey, 5 months after I started NS, I realize that I want to understand all the "numbers and counting" so that I can eventually be less dependent on the NS food and find healthy options in the grocery store. I am just now starting to compile lists of healthy choices for foods and still trying to figure out the numbers.

Sometimes I mess up the calculations and eat too much of one thing and not enough of another but this is a learning process...I just keep trying to make the best choices I can with the information and knowledge I have gained.

If you follow the plan it will work for you. In 21 weeks (5 months + 1 week) I have lost 53 pounds. This was my last ditch effort before surgery and I am totally happy with it. You can do it! Make it work for you... Hugs, Holly..

Thanks for all the info and encouragement! I need to lose 40 pounds and it seems a daunting task but I am determined to change not only my weight but my eating habits as well, so I know that eventually all the counting will be necessary. As I said, Weight Watchers and counting go hand in hand...so I am used to that...I'm just not in the "counting" mindset right now...

I have lost 100 pounds and the ONLY thing I've counted is the stats for the protein/dairy when I'm shopping (to make sure I get the right things)...no more than 100 calories, no more than 3g fat and no less than 7g protein. That's it...and I mark the circles in the book. Easy peasy.....

Its so easy it's you dont count the computer does it for you, you just put in the food had to eat for that day and it does it all it's not bad takes 5 min..

Hi everyone,.

I'm a newbie and I'm so excited! My name is Sue and I'm 53. I lost 30 lbs on WW 24 years ago and up until recently have kept it off. I changed my position at work so I'm not moving around as much and I also quit smoking so I put back on the weight.

I've been reading the boards since the 1st while I've been waiting for my 1st shipment to arrive.

I'm glad I saw this post today. After reading a lot of the posts I was beginning to think I would have to count & write everything down. My food is coming tomorrow & I'm so excited about starting.

I think I burned myself out with the counting on WW so I'm looking forward to this program very much not having to count points and write every thing down seems so much easier.

Pam you are definately an inspiration!..

I'll just add this, I think it's important or necessary down the road when you've reached goal and are maintaining to realize how many calories you are eating a day..

I watch the Today show a great deal and it's scary when they show you how many calories are in some meals that you have for lunch or dinner. Some of them have more fat and calories then you'd eat for the whole day.

It's great the NS does the work for us, but for me at least I have to be aware of exactly how much I'm eating each day..

Wishing you much success!.

No - you don't have to count anything. Just check off the little circles in your meal planner book and go..

I personally count calories and such, because that is the kind of person I am, but it certainly doesn't have to be that involved...
