My 1st question is: Is Medifast Diet really working? Many thanks for any response. Second question.. Hey all,.

I'm at an impasse. I've been on Medifast for 8 weeks and I truly enjoy it. However, I've been having issues with living wit my dad. My dad is one of those people who would bash my weight if I grab ONE cookie while he eats the rest. Whenever I would get into an argument I would eat. Now, I have to take care of him.

He is crazy!! He is legally blind and difficult to live with. I have no help at all wit my brothers..

Fast forward to today. He likes to spray raid in the house bc he feels attacked by bugs. He has been doin this since I was in HS. it makes me sick. My taste is all off, I get massive migraines and my sense of smell is deteriorating. My brother bought him some raid and I feel like I wanna go off!!! It's like my dad don't care.

It's triggering me to wanna eat off plan. I feel MISERABLE....:-(.

How do you deal with certain triggers during your journey?? I need some advice....my heart says to leave but he has no real reliable help. Ugh......

Ye, although you might wanna make sure and wait for another person here to confirm my answer as I am not sure. Better yet, why don't you ask the Medifast guys because they can give you an answer better...

Kirsten... I have no words for your situation. I would think maybe a conversation with the rest of your family is definitely in order..

Stress is most definitely a trigger.... but if you want to be successful in this journey... you have to decide what you really want. I understand triggers and cravings... I think we all do. Sometimes we have to walk the walk...

I hope you can find a solution and some peace...

Stress is a HORRIBLE trigger! I am so sorry that you are having to go through that right now. I am moving back in with my parents in three months and I am totally nervous about it because I know that it causes me more stress and a lot of emotional issues. Try to make a list of things that can make you relax or get away from it until you feel a little better. Maybe read a book, take a bubble bath, go for a walk. I like to take a drive in the country to get away. Also I would make the Raid disappear after your dad goes to bed..

Good luck...

Kristen, taking care of yourself, not just everyone else, is a good thing...it sounds like you are starting to think about doing that too with your being on Medifast..

You are at the start of a journey that involves not just weight loss but the reclaiming of your own power..

Best wishes to you,.

Bunting..

Thank you all for advice. In times like these, I wish my mother was still living so she can stand up to him. This is just extremely hard......

I had a freind who was married to a blind person and he had a phobia for bugs, he was a raid fanatic., the olny way she could convince him the bugs were not there, was to clean, and tell him how clean everything was.

Prayers your way..

I'm sorry for your situation. My self, I think I'd leave to keep my sanity. But that would be my choice, it sounds like a terrible choice for you. What I would suggest is Breathe and take care of you! Try a hot beverage to relax and get your mind back to where it should be. Tea or broth has worked wonders for me with stress. Good luck to you...

What's so crazy is that I am starting to feel guilty for doing for myself!! Goin to the gym, eating right bc I feel like I shouldn't do for me. Since my dad helps with my car .note, I feel indebted to him.:-/.

It's a connundrum of emotions. I had my Medifast oatmeal so I'm taking it slow...

Kristen.

Sorry for your situation...are you able to move out but stay in the area so you can come and check on him several times during the day? Stay focused and know what you are doing is best for you. Let his issues stay his own and you know the outcome so just tuned it out. If possible...open some of the windows to air out the house when he sprays or have Orkin come in once a month and maybe that will make him more comfortable that there are no bugs and he does not feel the need to spray. Or see if you can feel the Raid can up with water or something and tell him it is the odorless version..

Remember stay focus and tuned it out..
