Medifast is an old friend that I am getting reacquainted with. I was stoked to see that there are plenty of options today. 15 years ago, oatmeal wasn't. Unfortunately, I was thoroughly disappointed with the Maple/Br.Sugar Oatmeal. Any ideas on how to spruce it up? Thx!..

Thanks for the recipes! I've been using a scambled egg meal to add to the oatmeal but ofcourse that turns it into two meals. How do I count the 2 tbsp egg beaters. Obviously I new to this and am having a hard time adjusting to some of the food. NEED recipe ideas...

Hi Mountain Girl,.

Do you have the list of "meatless options" and also the "condiment recommendations?" These are great tools to help you figure out what is allowed and how to count it.

Here are the links.

Meatless Options: http://www.tsfl.com/pdfs/resources/Meatless_Options.pdf.

Condiment Recommendations: http://www.tsfl.com/pdfs/resources/Condiment.pdf.

If you cannot open them, go to www.medifast1.com and click on "learning" at the top of the page. If that doesn't work, either, send me a private message and I will email it to you as an attachment..

TWO CUPS of eggbeaters is one of the options for your lean. So 2 TABLESPOONS is hardly worth mentioning...it is 1/16 of a Lean, 15 calories and 1 gram carb. Personally, I would not worry about it, or would compensate by having one of the lower calorie snacks that day (for example, sugar free jello instead of Medifast soy crisps), or having one less condiment that day.

However, if you are concerned, here are some options:.

1) Log it onto MyPlan. You will find egg substitute (eggbeaters) under Lean as a meatless option. After you add the eggbeaters to your plan for the day, you can click on the entry and change the amount from 2 CUPS to 2 TBSP..

2) If you are good at Math, you can figure out how to reduce your lean by 1/16, but it comes out to less than 1/2 an ounce.

3) You could choose to have eggbeaters for your lean the day that you make the cookies, and just remove 2 TBSP for the cookies.

4) You could post a question to Nutrition Support.

I hope this answers your question! Please send me a message anytime. We are all in this together!.

Hi Mary Heart,.

My name is Jayda and I just started Medifast today. I read about the Oatmeal Breakfast and it was very disappointing to me too. It seemed to watered down and no flavor. I found your recipes and will try them the next time I eat oatmeal. I was not prepared for the bland texture. I have just finished dinner, salmon, broccoli and green salad.

I teach power workouts and boot camp for an exercise program 4 x's a week and ride horses and work on our property. I did not feel like I had enough food today. I checked my chart after I filled out the meal plan and I am right where I need to be tonight. I have almost burned the calories that I eat. I am a little worried that I am not receiving enough vitamins and when I checked that chart, I did receive all I needed in today's meals.

I have about 20lbs to lose. I just eat the wrong food and potion control is very much needed. I love sweets, and since I work out so hard you would think I could eat whatever I wanted. I have been on diets before and meet my goal but then I slowly go back to old habits. Thank you again for the recipes..

Hi! I just started Medifast today....had the peach tea first, it was fine. But I tried the maple brown sugar oatmeal then too - and sorry, but yuck. To me it wasn't the texture...it was the odd aftertaste. I'm gonna try the recipes, thanks for that b/c I've got several other packets to use!..

Thanks for the recipes!.

I already make the pancakes and like them. But your cookie recipe sounds better than the one I had tried. My oatmeal cookies were done in the oven and basically tasted like a baked pancake.. very soggy. I was hoping for crispy!..

Have you tried making granola? I'm new too (day 3) and hate the taste of any oatmeal (it's a texture thing - haven't liked it since I was little) ... I found a recipe for Granola that I modified slightly.

1 Packet Oatmeal (I used Peach).

Cinnamon, Allspice, or other seasoning to taste (about 1/2 tsp).

Water to moisten.

(The original recipe called for splenda, but I don't need the extra sweetnes - the peach was sweet enough.).

Mix and drop onto slightly greased baking sheet (I pinched them onto the sheet - very small bits). Bake about 8 minutes in 400 degree oven. Turn and cook for another 2 minutes (optional, I didn't bother because I'm lazy)..

Voila - Granola!!.

Good Luck and keep the recipes coming!!.

A toulouse and Vanessa, I hope they work for you! I actually have never made most of them, although I have been on Medifast for 9 months. I've collected them, thinking I will use them one day. But I basically just follow the instructions on the box!!! I love cooking for my family, but I am just not motivated to make special recipes for myself alone.

Linda..

Welcome S. Soy, and thank you for the granola recipe!..

The oatmeal cookies were still really soggy. I used barely any water and then even put them in the toaster oven afterwards. Oh well, I'll stick with the pancakes!..

Vanessa, I'm embarrassed that the recipe was not good! I apologize. I shouldn't have passed them along without trying them myself first.

When I first tried the Oatmeal I am sad to say I almost gagged. Now I.

Found ways to actually enjoy them. The peach and blueberry are yummy.

On there on to me. I made peach pancakes and they were awesome. Can't.

Wait to try it with the other flavors. For the Apple Cinnamon or the Maple Brown.

Sugar I add some of the Sugar free Davinci Syrups- peach, caramel, pancake syrup.

All work wonders...

Thank you so much. , Linda. Your ideas are amazing...

I zap about a cup of plain water in microwave for 1.30 seconds. then put oatmeal in and zap for 20 sec. and stir. then zap again for 20 more sec and stir. if you can let sit for a few minutes it tastes better. sits up and gets a little firmer.

At first I didnt like the oatmeal. now it's one of my favs. yo9ur taste buds do change!..

Oatmeal cookies - I eat them almost every day - cheaper than bars.

Start by preheating oven to 350.

1 packet oatmeal any flavor.

1/2 teaspoon non aluminum baking powder - very important.

1/4 teaspoon Molly McButter or similar brand.

Cinnamon, pumpkin pie spice, whatever you like.

DaVinci caramel syrup + water to equal 1/4 cup.

If you don't have DaVinci caramel syrup, use 1/2 teaspoon vanilla and water to equal 1/4 cup.

You stir everything together. It will be thick, so you may want a bit more water, but not much..

1 - 2 packets splenda.

Mix everything together. Place on a cookie sheet sprayed with Pam. Flatten with a fork. You can use 1 packet splenda and put the other packet in a small bowl, wet the fork and dip in the splenda, then flatten. Bake 15 - 18 minutes at 350, check and cook another 5 minutes if they are still "doughy". They don't like the cookies your mom used to make, but they taste great...

No worries Linda!!! It's not your recipe it's the oatmeal itself. I don't think they will ever get crispy... so I'm trying the granola next!..

Hi,.

All the cookies come out crisper when baked on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Spray with butter spray.

Hope this helps..

Welcome Back!!.

I hated the oatmeal at first, but love it now. Aside from hoping your tastes will change, here are a few hints that might help....

1) Mix it with boiling water rather than microwaving it. Many think this gives it a better texture..

2) Add one or more of the following: cinnamon, nutmeg, splenda or other no cal sweetener, vanilla extract or flavoring..

3) Make them into bread, muffins, cookies or pancakes! Recipes to follow....

Best wishes on your journey!..
