I'm stumped. I'm not so sure what is the answer to your question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I bump into an anything. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..
I know it is frustrating to not lose as much as others. The first week I didn't lose anything!.
I thought that Medifast worked for others, but would not work for me. My losses have been.
Slow BUT I can now wear a pair of jeans that I haven't worn for years and I have.
Cut my insulin injections from 5 to 1 per day..
And...I did lose 3 pounds this week..
The plan will work...hang in there and you WILL see results...
It does get frustration when you compare yourself with others. 4 lbs is a great loss for one week of dieting, there are plenty of people who have lost that or even LESS. The plan works, you weigh 4 lbs less than you did last week.
There are SOOOO many reasons your number could be 4- did you cut back on carbs before you started? or lose any weight? How about TOM? did you have lots of sodium this week? Keep your head up and only weigh on Mondays if it is going to get you down. Good Luck..
I have been at a stand still for almost two weeks now .Yes it is frustrating but I will not give up. I have lost weight and I will lose more. Maybe not a pace I would like but so be it. Keep strong 4 lbs is great. xxooxx..
I just weighed in week 1 today also. It was -5.6. Be careful to look at tickers - I've heard the more you have to lose the bigger it may be....sometimes not. I didn't eat sodium before I started so no Mexican or McDonald's came out of me this week. I agree with Bobbie - prior to the start maybe you did things that weren't obvious - all it takes is 1 Mexican dinner at a restaurant to retain 1.5-2.0 from the sodium. That would reflect a bigger loss..
I too was alittle bummed that I didn't lose more...hopeful, but HELLO, it's 5.6 and I didn't gain 5.6 in a week, so why should I ever expect to lose more in a week? I missed 1 Medifast meal 1 or 2 days and I won't do that again. I was having a hard time eating so much - I'm not having that probably anymore LOL. Did you hear that growl? ;o). Anyway, week 2 - choose the lower carbs if you can - more salads - that's what I'm going to do - and not cooking them as much this week. Hard part is incorporating my family of 5 - they will be saladed out so I'm trying to make things we all can eat but grabbing mine out before I put the sauces, etc in for them..
Have a great week 2!..
I wish I could have lost the 4lbs in my first week! That is an amazing loss!! I weighed in last night for the first time and only loss 0.8, on day 4 I weighed in and lost 2.8 lbs, so I gained 2 lbs! I am so frustrated!!! You should be very proud of yourself for losing the 4lbs, that is a great job!!! I am jealous!! Keep up the great work..
Stay 100% on program and our bodies will lose the way our bodies are designed to lose. Comparing our loses to those of others can just be a set up for frustration..
While I was on the 5 and 1, I learned to not have any expectation of what the scale was going to say each week when I weighed in. It really helped me to concentrate on staying on program and my reasons for staying on program and getting healthier. That way, I felt successful no matter what the scale said on weigh-in day because I knew I had taken good care of myself regardless of the numbers on the scale..
Four pounds in one week is great. Keep on keeping on...
Thank you for all the replies. I am definitely staying OP and looking forward to Week #2. I do feel better. No headaches, just some hunger sometimes before dinnertime. I water load then even more...
Those of us that lost more than you did the first week started at MUCH HIGHER weights too...
