Of course! but you might wanna make sure and wait for another member here to confirm this as I am not completely sure. Better yet, why don't you give a call to the Medifast guys because they can give you help better...
To start out my day almost everyday.... if it's cold outside I eat a bar with a cup of coffee... if it's reasonable warm outside... and we're getting there here in Texas... I mix cold coffee with a dark shake and blend it with ice in my bullett. These are my two staples for every morning.
I ALWAYS drink atleast 50oz of water before noon... and I really like to be working towards 75oz at noon... just makes my day better.... within that amount of water I have usually mixed in 2 calorie burn water infusers... usually..
Remember to take each day, especially those first few weeks... take it day by day and remind yourself that you will get to eat again in a few hours. Be good to yourself!..
You'll do great! It's so easy because it takes all the thinking out of eating. I'm actually more worried about not being on Medifast because the awesome structure won't be around.
Here's a look at my typical day:.
7:30am - Prep a shake (blended with ice), make my coffee, leave for work.
8:00 - coffee.
9:00 - drink the shake I made at 7:30.
11:30 - chicken noodle soup or beef stew (I like to do this because I can eat with co-workers and feel like I'm "having lunch").
2:00 - Cinn Pretzel sticks.
4:30 - PB Crunch Bar or Smore Bar.
6:30 - L&G....I save all my condiments for this.
A typical L&G is grilled chicken and mashed cauliflower with 1 LC wedge..
8:30 - BROWNIE - I look forward to this ALL. DAY. LONG..
Best of luck...stay focused, it's easy peesy...
EAT WITHIN AN HOUR OF GETTING UP!!! I know this is hard! I get up at 5:30ish and for the first 2 weeks I did not eat till 9, since then I make sure I eat within the hour and I feel more awake and I lose weight faster. Also flood yourself with water! It will make you lose faster! Good luck and keep us posted!..
If you're feeling hungry during the day try spacing your meals 2 to 2 1/2 hours apart at the most. You may need to add an optional snack to make this work, or split your lean & green into 2 meals..
Also I second what was said above - definitely have something within an hour of waking, even if it's just an optional snack. If I have an early morning I like to have some nuts to start out b/c I don't always feel like having a Medifast meal first thing. Some nuts are acceptable as an optional snack, though it has not been added to the offical snack list yet...I usually do 10 almonds or 1/2 ounce of walnuts, which I have premeasured in mini sandwich bags so I can grab them as I run out the door!..
I mix the cappichino with my morning coffee and find this really helps me start my day right. I'm using the calorie burn one so I get a real boost in the am. I do that at 7 while making DSs lunch for school. Then I eat every two to three hours. I'm only on day four and here's some motivation.....I'm already down 4.5 lbs! I'm totally psyched.
The hardest part for me has been the early side effects which should go away soon. Leg cramps when I missed a meal yesterday (won't do that again!) and the headaches. I woke up feeling like I had a hangover today so I stepped on the scale just to check...and found my motivation!.
The other issue for me has been learning which foods I like and don't. I found the orange shake to be inedible so instead of suffering through it I made something else. I have been carrying around extra foods just for this reason. I'm already struggling with a diet (which I need to do) so I'm not also going to make the process hellish by swallowing horrible stuff! It's worth the few bucks to me to toss what I don't like and have something I do..
And I am going to visit these boards every am to stay on track! Good days and bad it helps...
Someone suggested to me eating pickles if you get a headache, and said it really WORKS! I've also heard you can drink bullion(sp?), but I'm not sure what that is.. Lol. The pickle trick sounds easy enough. If your interested in it, you'll have to ask around to find the acceptable amount, I'm not sure what it is and haven't tried it yet. Best of luck to you!..
Welcome to you and your BF both - I'm glad you are able to do Medifast together :-) (My DH and I started together - although he had less to lose and finished well ahead of me)..
I start my day with Hot Cocoa most of the time (until it gets hot out, then I'll go back to a shake made in my Ninja as a slushy - yummy)..
I hope you both enjoy Medifast as much as I have!..
