I got a quick question: Does anyone know how sleeping pills bought from a Vitamin Shoppe work, not prescritpion sleeping pil?.

I also got another question: Hi everyone,.

So, I tried to make the pancakes for the first time today. The batter tastes good, so I think they should be good, but I burned them. I'm not sure what I did wrong - did I turn the heat up too high? It was on medium-high heat. Any ideas?.

Thanks all,.

I also cook mine on medium high. Watch for the bubbles to form on the top of the pancakes. When they start popping and are almost gone - time to flip them ! I love the choc chip pancakes !!!!..

Not a bad cook!! Just need practice..

I like to cook mine a little slower, but definitely watch for the bubbles to start to pop and the edges get a little dry. Flip and the second side takes about half as long. Once you get the hang of it, you'll make pancakes every day, they're that good...

I have a hard time on a gas stove, because when I lower the flame, the heat ring gets smaller.

I can do pancakes better on an electric stove because heat remains constant over whole bottom of pan, rather than the little ring right in the center...

Try this amazing top of the stove required....

This was copied from The-Jazzman's Recipe Board:.

Paul's Apple Bundt Cake.

From the NS newsletter- used with permission.

Counts as 1 Breakfast Entre + 1 Fruit Serving + 1 Dairy/Protein Serving + Free Foods.

* 1 package of NutriSystem Pancake Mix.

* 1 egg.

* cup of unsweetened applesauce.

* tsp. vanilla.

* tsp. cinnamon.

* 3 packages Splenda (or sweetener equal to 1 Tbsp. of sugar).

* 12 squirts I Can't Believe It's Not Butter spray.

* 2 Tbsp. any calorie-free maple-flavored syrup.

1. Place pancake mix, cinnamon and sweetener in a large microwave safe bowl and mix; add egg, applesauce, and vanilla and stir thoroughly until all ingredients are well mixed.

2. Leave in bowl and place in microwave. Cook in microwave on high for 3 minutes (longer if necessary). Finished product should resemble a small individual bundt cake (depending on dimensions of bowl used) and be moist with the texture of a sponge cake.

3. Turn upside down onto serving plate and spray with 12 squirts of ICBINB spray, and drizzle with syrup.

That sounds goooooooooooooooooooooooooooood.

Pam, do you know if it keeps overnight?..

Comment #5

I've made it in the morning, eaten 1/2 and refridgerated the rest for later in the day. Don't know why you couldn't do that overnight.....

Comment #6

I make the bundt *cake* every morning, when NS sends me the pancake mix that is....Why do you only eat half Pam?...

And also I think you from the bottom of my heart for all your help with NS, you are my inspiration!..

Adding some applesauce to your pancake mix is also good. You can't taste the applesauce, and it keeps them from being so dry....makes more too! You can even swirl a dab of SF jam in the batter, or mashed banana. I try to do something different with the pancakes every weekend. I'd have them every morning if I had the time, but I have to be at work too early as it is..

Everyone experiment with the pancakes, and Pam's suggestion for the Apple Bundt Cake sounds yummy! I will try that this weekend...

The reason I ate 1/2 (twice) is that I made it with Pumpkin instead of applesauce (1 cup pumpkin!) and it made it HUGE...this was during Thanksgiving weekend, SO, I saved 1/2 and had it for dessert when my guests had pumpkin pie. Sprinkled a little cinnamon and nutmeg on top of FF Cool Whip and no one could tell mine wasn't also a piece of pie! Was delightful.....

You are so good at this Pam!!....when I make the bundt cake tho I don't put spenda, cinnamon etc..just the applesause(will try pumpkin to next) and dry mix and 3 tbl egg whites....

I like things simple, very simple....I found that it tasted the same with or w/o the splenda,cinnamon, vanilla..even butter..I just use some Wf's o everything pancake syrup......

Comment #10

Just keep an eye on them. I cook mine like regular pancakes and they always come out yummy. Just watch for the bubbles and then flip. the other side doesn't take that long to cook so be on the look out..

Hope you have a great day!..

Comment #11

Thanks so much for all the suggestions! This is my first post and you guys are so friendly and supportive!.

Using Pam's post of the Bundt Cake (which really is very easy and very good) you can make many different varieties by changing out the applesauce (or using the flavored applesauce). I also buy the 2nd stage baby food fruits and use those instead of the applesauce. I have used both the fruit and some veggies. Baby food Carrots make a fantastic Carrot Cake!.

If you don't want to microwave - you can put the whole thing in the toaster oven at 400 for 20-30 minutes (depending on your oven) keeping everything else the same..

Just keep those in mind to keep the "fun" and "variety" in your breakfasts...

Comment #13

Hey you and me both. I don't cook well either, but I do ok with NS foods.

Maybe that is why I am still single!..

Comment #14

Thanks alot Pam, I made it and it turned out great! I'm always looking for new recipes!..

Here's another one I love!! I make this and freeze them. Then put them in the toaster oven..

Kate's Cherry Coffee Cake.

1/3 C pioneer LF baking mix (could use NS pancake or Bisquick).

1/4 cup egg beaters.

1/3 c FF SF vanilla yogurt.

2 T Splenda.

1/8 T Baking Soda.

1/2 C Tart Cherries.

1 T Splenda.

1/8 t cinnamon.

1 T ff promise spread.

Mix all ingredients for batter and fold in cherries. Pour into mini loaf pan. For topping: Mix splenda, cinnamon and sprinkle over batter cover completely. Dollop the FF promise on top. Preheat oven or toaster oven to 350 for 30 minutes..

Entree, dairy, fruit & FF.

Huge and good!!..

I cook mine on medium high and just watch them. When they start looking a little dry around the edges, I flip them. The second side does not take as long. You can lifte them and peek under it...
