First question I got is Does anyone know about the Medifast diet?!!!!!!!!!!!!!? Hoping for any answer. 2nd question I got is.. I know this sounds like a strange question. I am on day 8 and the first week was sort of tough. I was so hungry, had headaches and wanted to eat just because... I don't know, just wanted to chew on something.

I read about ketosis and found out that thirst and metallic taste is normal..

I am still thirsty but all other things have disappeared. I am no longer hungry and almost feel like something is wrong. I logged what I ate today and it is all under 1000 calories, 71 carbs and OP. I almost feel like I have eaten what used to be a normal day before Medifast but I haven't. Am I still going to lose weight without feeling hungry? Maybe I have just learned that loosing weight means pain and discomfort. I just feel like I have eaten too much to not be hungry and that it must be too much to be OP..

Does this sound too strange?..

You betcha! but you might want to make sure and wait for another member to confirm my answer as I am not confident. Better yet, why don't you email the Medifast guys because they can give you help better...

If I don't watch the time, I forget to eat! And, I have very rare moments of hunger...usually late at night. Then, I just go to bed and I'm fine. Isn't this wonderful!..

I have to watch the clock and set a timer too or else I forget to eat and play 'catch up' at the end of the day. Welcome to Medifast...isn't it great?..

Welcome to one of the big benefits of Ketosis! In many people there is significantly reduced hunger :-D I have a list of meal times next to clocks in all my most often used rooms to REMIND me to eat :-) (except on hungry days, when it helps me hang in there until the next meal). I welcomed the hungry days at the end of my weight loss phase, because the scale almost always moved down right after a hungry spell :-).

Now I"m in transition and I'm hungry again - I miss Ketosis sometimes!!.

I'm not hungry either! Weird, isn't it? I'm still not used to it..

Today I was as perfect as ever and I started getting a little weirded out by the lack of *want*. I went over everything and no, I didn't screw up at all..

This happens to me about every three days. I'll just hit me that I feel fine. And every bit of experience tells me that I should be ready to chew my own arm off..

I don't fully understand it, but I sure appreciate it!..

I haven't been hungry since day one. My stomach will actually growl when empty and it's time for a meal, but I still do not feel hunger in the way I used to. I cannot explain it. It happened immediately. Now I.


Have cravings once in a while for my favorite comfort foods, but I am not hungry...

I'm in the same boat! Not feeling eating just to eat, or out of boredom etc. It feels great! I find the times that I *think* (see, *think*, not, *need*)I want a snack, I drink some water and pop a piece of sugarless gum in my mouth to satisfy my brain. My bosy is already getting the fuel it needs. (FYI...on these days, I have never had to have more than one piece of gum...) And I'm still on the same pack of gum! LOL..

Yes, it is normal for being on MF, I felt the same way and was really shocked to realize that I actually.


To eat!!! I took somebody's advise & set my cell phone's alarm clock 3 hrs apart (longest you should go w/o eating something) to remind myself to eat!.

How is THAT for a change?.

Like Steph say you will have your up's & down's on the hunger scale, but it's totally manageable & oh, sooo worth it!..
