I am new to MF, and yesterday was my first day. I have to admit that so far, I am not really enjoying the food- plain chicken breast for dinner has never tasted so good ! I have been online a lot looking for some additions to the products to make them taste better. I see a lot with the oatmeals, and some suggestions for other products, but what about the shakes? Does anyone have any suggestions for those? Is that what everyone is putting the sugar-free syrup in? Also, what about the soups? Is this the best place to find these ideas, or is anyone else using an outside website? Any informtion would be most helpful- sorry for the long post- I just really want this to work!..

Your question was: Do you put syrups in your Medifast shakes?.

Yes I love coffee in my cappucino or chai latteThe magic bullet or a regular ole blender will give them a nice creamy texture.

I have added a half pkg of splenda If I didnt like a shake at first.

But I have found after a couple weeks your taste changesYou arent eating sugar overloaded or fatty foods. Your taste becomes more intense and you enjoy the medifast and and l & g foods moreYou then dont need to have extra flavoringsWell at least it did for me ...

I found this recipe in the discussion boards - I don't remember who posted it, but THANK YOU! It is very good.... She calls it "Ice Cream".

1 vanilla pudding.

1/2 cup cold water.

1 cup ice.

1 oz fat free cream cheese.

1/2 tsp almond extract.

1 packet Splenda.

Put all in a blender that can handle the ice and blend until thick..

I have also tried it with the Dutch Chocolate shake and orange extract. It is delicious..

For the soup, it helps to put a bouillon cube in before you microwave it and then let it sit much longer than the directions say..

Hang in there, the food will start to taste better. I'm in the middle of week 3 and at first everything tasted weird! Good luck!..

You might want to check out the "time savor gourmet's" you tube clips. She is called the Queen of lean and green. She has some very creative recipes for that evening dinner that is on plan. Good Luck.

I am new to MF. I am getting use to the taste. However I love the shakes. I use the bullet to make it and it really gets it nice and thick...

Hi there:.

I actually mistakenly mixed the dutch chocolate with the orange creme shake (was going to drink half now and half later) and it was surprisingly really good! Sort of like that chocolate orange candy? I also add ice, one splenda and a little vanilla, coconut, maple, peppermint, lemon extract to each of my shakes depending on what combination I want and have ended up with all kinds of good combos...

I just have to share since I just posted something about shakes. I just made a fabulous tasting shake (or at least I think so). I used 1 cup "Tejava" black tea (the one you can buy just about anywhere now in the glass bottle), about a 1/4 cup ice, 1 splenda, 1 T pumpkin pie spice and one French Vanilla shake. Blend all together and it tastes like a creamy chai milkshake. Yum, yum, I will definitely be making another one!..

I love the orange creme shake, ice and a bit of water in the blender and it's yummy!.

The peanut butter crunch bar rocks too!..

I've added a teaspoon of sugar free orange jello and ice to my orange shake for a taste explosion. Also freeze them a bit for an ice cream effect. But if you forget them they will freeze solid..

I remember when I first started MF...it took some getting used to all the foods. The shakes seemed gritty, now I like most of the foods. The only thing I just can;t get used to are the oatmeals...no matter what is done to them..

I think that as you are on the plan you will find that you really start to like the foods..

Right now my favorite is the crunch bars and the cheese puffs...I can't wait to try the pretzels!!!..

OH MY that sounds absolutely decadent! (grabbing keys to go to the grocery store to buy the jello)...

Good Morning and Welcome! For the shakes I use coffee instead of water. I mix the shake with the coffee, add ice and put it in my magic bullet. It kind of makes it like a frappacino. I love them now! As far as your lean and green. Look at the condiment list and you can make your meat quite tasty!.

Good luck!..
