Quick question... Diet To Go or Medifast (please answer!)? Thanks in advance for any answer. My 2nd question... So on my second go 'round with MF, and one of the things I remember from last time is that weighing once a week is really best. I even had a conversation the other day with my husband about how badly I wanted to peek and see how I was doing, but forced myself to wait the week. Weigh-in time came and I lost 6lbs..yay! That was Monday morning.

gain!!! Arghh!! I did this to myself last time I was on MF, and each week, without FAIL, I ended up losing. So why would I go and do this to myself now?.

I think seeing that this morning was all I needed to say ONCE A WEEK ONLY. If I let my emotions go up and down with the scale throughout the week, I will drive myself insane. Anyway, just wanted to pass that along....from someone who's been there before, it's best to just TRUST that it's working and weigh ONCE per week..

Good question... I dunno what is the answer to that question. I'll do some research in Google and get back to you if I discover an good answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could answer your Medifast question..

I actually do better when I weigh daily or at least every other day. It keeps me more accountable. If it's going to mess up your program, though, I agree with the poster who recommended you get DH to hide the scale!..

To add to my post, I remember when I tried Weight Watchers. Weigh-in was once a week and I remember not doing too well the first couple of days after weigh-in because I thought I could undue the damage before the next official weigh-in. When I was trying to stick to weighing once a week on MF, I found the same mindset starting to creep back..

This is a good point. I realized last week that an l&g I had chosen while extremely enjoyable and 100% OP simply did not agree with me and my weight loss. I rarely see a gain when i'm 100% op and I actually had a gain, small but I wouldn't have known as quick if I wasn't a daily weigher, because I planned to eat it again the following day, after that gain I went back to more simpler l&g's...

I attribute part of my success to only weighing once a week while in 5 & 1. I made a weekly ceremony out of it with my husband proudly bringing me the scales out of their hiding spot every Wed morning. Now in maintenance I DO weigh daily to make sure I am holding steady at 125#'s. I also keep a daily food and water log, which I plan to do forevermore. I'm not going to slip down the slope againlife is too short and I squandered enough of it away already...

This. I had to do it for my sanity. I let him keep it hidden for 2 weeks before I begged him to bring it back. Now I'm thinking I need to have him hide it again...

If you were 100% OP, drank all your water, then you know there is no way you gained. It is just your body fluctuations and in a few hours it could be all gone. did you have an extra salty choice for L/G last evening? did you work out and maybe your muscle were retaining a bit of water?.

I was not a daily weigher during 5/1 and 4/2, but did weigh twice a week. Then in maintenance I became an everyday weigher until I seemed to be "locked" in on my maintenance plan and weight..

If seeing these jumps on the scale bothers you, then, as others have said, stick to weekly weighing, or even monthly. Stay 100%, and you will do fine..

I totally agree, Tabitha - had my husband hide the scale a few weeks ago. Was going to try not to weigh for more than a week, but that certainly didn't last! Last year, I remember a lady on here that didn't weigh herself at all during Lent. Sounds intriguing but I'd be caving and sneaking out to buy a new scale if I tried to go that long! I did move my scale into the laundry room so I'm not seeing it every time I go to the bathroom - that helped a lot. Except I still find myself thinking every morning when I get into the shower that I could just run down the hall and do a quick weigh in and hubby wouldn't know!.

I like the idea of making it a big ceremony - may try that this week... maybe. Don't know, though - I love seeing how I'm doing!..

Melanie the weekly ceremony thing and my husb being there for it was a big part of the motivation to stay OP all week...

Being diet Coke addict I know the sodium plays a big part in my weight fluctuations from day to day. I am trying so hard to only weigh once a week, but it's hard not to peek...
