Question I have... Can anyone tell me where could I find the Medifast Diet cookbook for free? Thanks in advance for any response. Second question.. OK here's the story I was 243 lbs, got down to 200 lbs, then joined MF, got down to 172 lbs, went on vaycay for oh about 30 lbs (note to self: "breaks" from ANY plan rarely turn out well LOL), then when I reached my scary weight of 202lbs, got right back at it. And for exercise, I decided to try out Bikram's Hot Yoga. You know, that hard-core type of yoga which consists of 26 postures each repeated twice and 2 breathing exercises in a heated room of 110F and 48 percent humidity for 90 minutes? Yeah, THAT yoga LOL! I decided I was going to step out of my comfort zone and try this.

The BIG girl at the back. Covered from head to toe in exercise gear! And everyone else was in tiny tops and shortie shorts. HA!.

Well, Bikram's is known for it's unique approach no props, no blocks, no straps, no excuses. You just do the work and eventually you will get there. Which paralleled my "new approach" to weight loss do the work and eventually you will get there. You don't have to be perfect all the time, you just have to committ to doing your best every single day, and know that some days will be better than others and that's OK..

First class! O!M!G! No balance! No strength! No stamina! It was horrible. I lay on my mat and cried. The instructors were really firm do your BEST, give it 100 percent, but accept where you are today because if you stick with it, it'll get better. But they sure didn't cut me any slack LOL! But they were kind, and compassionate, and never EVER made me feel out of place or useless or stupid. Such a loving environment!.

I thought I was a hopeless case. Yeah RIGHT I'll get better I thought! So I read Bikram's books. He says that if you do this form of yoga with dedication and persistance, you WILL succeed, but at different rates, because we have all written different histories onto our bodies through our life experiences. So I kept at it. 4 classes a week. It took me 4 months to actually be able to get through the standing series (45 minutes) without having to lie down.

And every day I took to heart what Bikram says, "it is never too late, you are never too old or too sick to start again from scratch". And every day I saw myself starting from scratch yet again. That was February 2009..

At the same time, I applied what I learned from my Yoga experience to my weight loss journey. I learned to be forgiving of myself, to pick myself up and start again when I was less than perfect, to be understanding of my weaknesses and to work on them, to strive for perfection but accept that I wasn't perfect, and most of all, to be compassionate towards the beginners in the class who huff and puff and have no balance and stamina and complained alot and to encourage them to just keep going, that there will be days better than others, but if you're in it for the long haul you are going to see amazing changes. Perserverance, dedication and compassion! It goes a LONG ways!.

In any event, this January I decided to take on a personal 100 day challenge. That I would get down to goal, FINALLY, through hard work and exercise. That was on January 4th! I was 177 lbs and had stalled out on another weight loss plan. Kind of discouraged, but thought HEY if there's a will, there's a way! So I returned to a strict eating regimen for the first while, and then back to Medifast to finish off the rest. And since Jan 4th, I have done a Hot Yoga class EVERY DAY. I just did my 83rd class in a row.

And I totally accept any weight loss or non weight loss consequences that happen. No complaints!.

AND, 4 weeks ago the most wonderful thing happened. The studio /img/avatar8.jpg stopped me before one class and said "have you ever considered Teacher Training?". I said, "yes, but it's so darned expensive!" You see, Teacher Training is a 9 week course, this year in Los Angeles, and costs FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS. I don't have that kind of money!.

And then the /img/avatar8.jpg says "I want you to go and the STUDIO IS GOING TO PAY FOR IT"..

Full scholarship for Teacher Training!.

Decisions! Do I carry on with Medifast to goal? I won't be at goal before Teacher Training, so do I stay OP? Or do I go on Teacher Training? Can't do both Teacher Training is extremely physically demanding (as in 3 or more hours of Hot Yoga a day plus posture clinics...around 5 hours of physical activity a DAY, six days a week, for 9 weeks). What to do!.

Well, I'm doing what is right for me. I'm off to El Lay for 9 weeks of Yoga Teacher Training! Completely amazing! I never would have thought I would have gone from a 243 lb couch potato to a freaking YOGA TEACHER. Ever. I might get to goal through Teacher Training. I might not. I WILL have to figure out how to eat without Medifast for a while because Medifast isn't geared for 5 hours of exercise a day LOL! But like I've often said, getting to goal isn't a race and sometimes, things just, well, HAPPEN.

So the bottom line is this: with dedication, perserverance, hard work, and acceptance, you WILL get to your goal. And wonderful things can happen, if you keep an open mind and a positive outlook. I really really believe it. None of this would have happened if I hadn't been dedicated or stuck with both my fitness and my weight loss goals. It certainly hasnt' been easy and it certainly hasn't been for the faint of heart. It takes strength and determination and the belief that you are doing the best for yourself that counts.

Just had to share!..

That's fabulous, go for it! I think it's wonderful you're doing something that you love, that could be a lifelong pursuit and support you, and someone believes so much in your potential that they're willing to invest in you!!! The offer won't always be there, your Medifast regimen will (be sure to have set the date you start up again and have food ready!). I'm sure you'll get back to your weight loss journey - what's more motivating than being surrounded by a bunch of half naked women and men in fabulous, toned, condition???.

I LOVE Bikram! Had to stop because my schedule no longer allowed for what essentially was 3 hours out of my day (1.5 yoga, .5 RT commute, 1.0 shower/hair/dress - I include this because I had to wash/dry/style my hair every time - heat=wet hair). I had 2 really great instructors, and one who seemed like she'd rather be chasing butterflies. I don't know that I've ever felt more of a sense of accomplishment than when I was doing Bikram (and a "holier than thou" attitude - my Army Ranger son went with me once, said he'd never voluntarily put himself through that h*ll again.).

The only concern I have for you is what the golf pros say they experience (not touring, the teaching kind) - once they join the golf industry as a provider, they.

Play less.

When you get through your training, be sure to carve out time for YOU to stick with a regular yoga schedule from a participant side..

Best of luck, have fun!..
