I was just wondering what everyone thought was the best low fat cheese you like?.

I tried SHoprite's brand of nonfat processed cheese slices that I add to omletes and they melt nicely and are pretty good..

I was looking for a cheddar / mozzarella low fat cheese. Weight Watchers makes a decent mozzarella that has 4 grams of fat for 1/3 cup. I think this is OP, but not really sure...

I like Kraft FF cheddar slices. Not crazy about the american, kinda bland. THe cheddar has a kick to it...

Cabot's, hands down. The best lowfat cheeses out there..

Watch out for FF cheese - according to Nutrition Support we are not supposed to use them because they are typically too high in carbs...

I just tried the Cabot's lf yesterday and I can't even tell the difference. I used it in my eggbeaters omlette and it melts wonderfully..

I wish I had a trader joes' near me, but it is about 1 hr away...

How much of the light mozz can you have? I am craving a caprese but I'm pretty new to this and don't know the amounts...

One ounce of low fat cheese equals one ounce of your lean (I'm not sure which category)..

If you get the Weight Watchers LF cheese shreds, you can have 1 1/3 cup as your lean..

Cabot it probably the best.....

When it comes to how much you can have for your lean, it depends on the fat content. If the cheese has 1 -1.5 g/fat per oz. it is considered "leaner" and you can have 6 oz. with a fat serving. If it is 3-6g/fat per oz., it is considered "lean" and you can have 4 oz. with no fat serving...

I cannot find a cheese that meets the "leaner" criteria anywhere... still searching... but on the other hand, 4 oz. of cheese is quite a bit for me.....

Weight Watchers has a lf mozzarella shreds that Medifast nutritionist said I could have 1 1/3 cups for the lean portion...

I love the low fat swiss from Costco. It is 2.5g of fat per oz, but I only use 3oz in my egg beater omelets (it seems to be between the two cheese categories)...
