Are nuts on plan during Medifast?

I've done a quick look and can't find them anywhere. I suspect they simply aren't on plan. But just to be sure, does anyone know if any kind of nut is on plan in any form? I'm particularly interested in the crack-them-yourself kinds that are available at Christmastime..

Many of us hold that no, they can wait for maintenance. However, some contend that because there's an informal snack list from Nutrisystem that includes some nuts, that you can have them. I'm sure someone will provide the details..

For me, I don't want to have to sweat whether I'm keeping under the daily limits. So I keep my snack to pickles or celery, not any of the "extra fat/carbs" things...

Since I like keeping my hair (nuts have some nutrients that may helphair be healthy) and because I know that the fat in nuts is healthy and because I am okay with losing my weight slowly and because I am fairly physically active and because I am not a binger.....

....I am having raw almonds most days as my snack...

My doctor recently told me that one of my cholesterol levels was off, the good one. She instructed me to eat a few almonds each day. I was so happy that they were included as a snack!..

I love nuts! Almonds, walnuts and pistachios.....BUT I choose not to partake of this snack, at this time, because I know I can't control myself as far as portion. Not yet anyway. Come summer backpacking and such, I will again make my GORP (not a true GORP as I don't like raisins OR peanuts. lol) I may start thinking about some new GORP recipes and submit them to Nutrisystem so that the recipe is tweaked and ready when I need it...

I have used almonds during the 5 and 1. I count out 10 and when they are gone (nibbled upon slowly), I am done. They have been a godsend for me as a snack because they have a good balance of protein and fat and satisfy my hunger. I also make sure I drink some water when I eat them. I limit almonds to 10 a day, probably 5 days a week. All that said, they are not a trigger food for me.

If popcorn were on plan, I'd be in big trouble if I tried to eat it. Talk about trigger food!..

The new QUICK START GUIDE fromMedifast/Take Shape For life lists 1/2 ounce of nuts: almonds (10 whole), walnuts (7 halves), or pistachios (20 kernels) on the official list of approved optional snacks.* and goes on to say:.

* Nuts are a source of healthy fat and additional calories..
