Before I begin, I wanna ask: Are Dermablend concealers better than Vitamin Shoppe concealers such as Maybelline?.

My next question is: Ok so I made this for dinner last night. I kid you not, it was AWFUL!!!.

Years ago I had this on NS and it was my favorite dish!!! This container says new improved taste! I had to spit out what I tried to force down and gagged on! Anyone else have this issue with this meal? It tasted like POISON!!...AND I CAN EAT JUST ABOUT ANYTHING!!!.

I absolutely could not eat it, so instead ate dairy and protien to about equal the calories.

Question: Can I send back foods to trade in for something else even from my free week?..

Your question was: Are Dermablend concealers better than Vitamin Shoppe concealers such as Maybelline?.

Hi Lynn (graylady),.

I wonder if the mac & cheese with beef tasted so bad because instead of just pouring the hot water in the container to let sit. I poured the water with container mixture(with correct amount of water) in a pan and heated it on medium high heat. Then covered it and let it sit, thinking the pasta would get tender. I added extra water to make it better, but didn't help. Maybe it had just gone bad. Next time I will try your suggestion and add to it...if I try it again! Sorry to complain, I really was looking forward to having a great meal..

On the contrary I Absolutely love the Oatmeal cookies!! They are the best!.

Thanks for the help about the NS returns, Lynn!.

I will call NS. They will take care of it I'm sure...

Hey slimmerk14, I have been on NS for 5 weeks now (second order) I have had to send back items both times. The stuff they give you for your free week is basically the stuff that isn't selling! It is very easy to call and get the exchange code and send back any food that's unopen within 30 days! You are not alone with the mac and cheese and beef. My first week on NS I tried it and didn't like it at all! I boiled the water and added it to the cup and was not impressed! Your not complaining, these meals are what we look forward too. My two favorite dinners are the Meatloaf and mashed potatoes and the Rotini with Meatballs and Tomato sause.

Good luck,.

Jerrol..

Instead of returning the things you don't want, just call customer service and they will send you something else. NS is very good about that. They don't want you to have to return anything. They told me a lot of charities and churches gladly take NS food that people don't want.

Everyone has such different tastes when it comes to food, because I absolutely love the mac 'n cheese. It is one of my favorites! I don't fill the container up to the line at all. You can always add more hot water after you let it set if it's too thick. The trick is to add the water slowly and stir VERY good. Make sure you don't have any powder stuck to the container. You can also make it and mix it with different veggies you like...

They won't send out replacements for food that was ordered. If it's a case of deciding you didn't like what you ordered, you will have to send the food back. They only send out replacements w/o requiring that you send the food back for subs, since by law, if they send you something you didn't ordered, it's considered a gift and they CAN'T ask you to send it back...

Latinamommy - It depends on why you need it replaced. After I got some food on my first order (which was a custom order) I read the ingredients and found the lasagna and one other item I specifically ordered contained spinach. I am very allergic to spinach. I called NS and they replaced it with something else and did not ask me to return anything...

They sent me items that contain pork, and I don't eat pork for religious reasons. It is like poison to me. They did not care. They told me to send it back on my dime with a note indicating what I wanted instead...

I make the Mac/Cheese/Beef differently than directed. First I put in lots of water and put it in the microwave for one minute. I keep watch because it tends to bubble over. After the minute I let it sit for about 10 minutes. Then I nuke it for another minute. After about ten minutes it is ready to eat. I love it...

I haven't tried that one yet! It can't be worse than the cheese tortellinis (barf)..

I hated the Cheese Tortellini. The sauce is so tart. Any ideas on how to make it taste better? I despise the red tape of sending stuff back...

You can call NS and they WILL replace it w/o you having to return anything. They will always replace things that you try and you just don't like (if you have more on hand). They want you to be a satisfied customer and they really go out of their way to do so..

I don't like the Cheese Tortellini either. Denise has a good idea with the seasoning or hot sauce because it is very bland..

NS is bringing about 100 new entrees and they should all be available by Jan. 20, 2008. Can't wait!..

I like the mac & cheese with beef but not the mac & cheese plan, but it seems more like a lunch than a dinner. I like to add parmasean to the tortelini and other tomato based stuff and also a little dried basil or oregano...

I absolutly love it. I added brocolli and it was so gooood, wished I could of had another.......

I like it okay... Doesn't seem like the beef softens up though....

I noticed that, too. The macaroni was nice and soft and tasty, and the beef was like hard little jerky chunks...

I agree, I like the plain Mac & Cheese better than the beef because the beef just doesn't soften up. It just doens't seem like a dinner meal to meal either but I eat it that way anyway...

It cracks me up that we all like different things. I had cheese tortellini's yesterday and thought they were so good!..

I mixed in some cooked chopped spinach with the mac and cheese. It was good..

I tried the mac and cheese after having bad luck with my mac and cheese with beef. (I used to love the ones with beef!!!) ...Last time the mac and cheese with beef was fine, it was the cheese sauce that tasted stale! The plain mac and cheese I just had last night was actually edible and not bad. I think the beef one was bad, or I should not have cooked it on the stove.

I am still a little scared to try the mac and cheese with beef again...I'll probably have to bite my tongue and cringe! I will leave it in the container and just add hot water to it. Should be much better.

***I called NS yesterday and was so impressed how nice and helpful the female counselor, and the male customer service representative was to me!!! Thanks Nutri-system team!!!!!..

Try preparing as directed, let it sit, and then add half a can of diced tomatoes. Nuke for a few second to reheat. The tomatoes make a huge improvement in the flavor and count as a serving of vegetables...

This is one of my favorite dinner dishes. Here is how I prepare it. I save my protein from lunch-1oz of lean beef. In a pan, with Pam butter spray, I brown the chopped beef with chopped bell peppers-vegetable servings.

I open the container, pour the boiled water in. I fill it a little above the fill line. Then, I cover that and let it sit while I brown the beef and bell peppers.

I place the cooked beef and bell peppers in a bowl and pour the macaroni and cheese with beef over it once it has sat for tem minutes. I stir it all up and nook it in the microwave for a minute. I stir it again and enjoy!!! It's great...

Within 30 days you can return foods to NS just call them to get exchange info.

When you send stuff - be sure to get a tracking number so you'll have proof of delivery (they do get busy and stuff gets lost as you can imagine).

Also they'll tell you to make a list of what you are returning and what you want instead - keep a copy of that if you have to contact them.

Lynn.

Ps if you decide not to return to NS for exchange, you could also try the trade thread OR you could try my bulk it up fix (has the benefit of helping the taste out too - lmao).

Mac & Cheese OR Mac & Cheese & Beef love these just as is, but I do rather have to restrain myself from opening a second itty bitty one... cook as directed, but before you pour in the water, add 1 ounce of Velveta Light (60 cal, 3 gr fat, 5 gr protein) or 2 slices kraft fat free cheddar (I think tastes less waxy fake than the fat free american), then fill almost to the brim (the extra water will thin the sauce, but the extra cheese melts great and thickens it)... increases volume for the "price" of one protein, and a fairly low-cal one at that - yeah it's a bit low on protein, so if you mind that, use 2 tsp parmesan cheese on top (free food @ 20 cal & 2 gr protein) ... to really bulk it up, steam 1 cup of broccoli in a large bowl and pour the mac&cheese over it === instant broc w/ cheese sauce, and a lot of it.....
