Question I have... Anyone feel lethargic and mentally drained on the Medifast Diet ? Many thanks for any response. Another question I got... Hello everyone. I just started Medifast on Tuesday 3/29. I'm staying on plan so far.

I was wondering if any of you had any fast food/restaurant food item suggestions that won't go too overboard while trying to stick to the plan. I know it's contradictory to Medifast but this will only be a one time thing...

I would like to know the answer too. Anyone here know what is the right answer. I'll do some poking around and get back to you if I find an decent answer. You should email the people at Medifast as they probably could assist you..

We eat out every now and then, and I haven't had too many problems. Definitely look ahead at the menu for wherever you are going to go. I like to get a grilled chicken salad when I go out. However, I have also gotten chicken with veggies on the side. It is just a matter of where you want to go..

We can't control everything when we eat out, but you can do it and still stay OP and lose weight! Just plan ahead!..

Yep - whenever I am going out to eat - especially if it is a new place I always pull up the menu online to see what my choices are. Good luck - and as Becky said planning ahead is a huge key to your success in this program!..

Have a grilled Steak with a Salad. Or I always get a Caesar with Chicken or Shrimp. Hold the dressing, cheese and croutons. Add tomatoes. Or get a piece of grilled salmon with a side of aspargus...

I eat out at least once a week.

I go to El pollo loco and get Chicken breast with salad and salsa, remove the skin.

Chipotle I get a chicken salad.

Dennys I get the veggie/cheese omelette with tomatoes instead of potatoes.

Ruby's I get a turkey burger wrapped in lettuce with a side salad.

Mexican places I get chicken fajitas and skip the tortillas..

I eat out probably 2 or 3 times a week. I mix it up, outback is amazing you can do the grilled shrimp or steak. Everything, EVERYTHING I order I order without butter or even seasonings. So just plain and dry. I know that the usual portion of shrimp is not enough anywhere so I always order extra from the "add on menu". Salad with ranch on the side (my fat) and broccoli steamed no butter no seasonings.

I can honestly say that I used to let my salad SWIM in ranch dressing now I can put a little bit on and feel like a normal person! I love ranch but I have learned that I do not need a quarter as much as I thought I did. Good luck you will do great!..

To echo everyone else, planning ahead is good, especially if they have nutritional info with carb, protein, fiber, calorie info, etc. When in doubt, I order a grilled sandwich of some sort with a side salad instead of fries and just take off the bun of the sandwich. I try to eyeball best I can with the protein & veggies...

Under "Sharing Ideas", there's a whole forum dedicated to Dining Out With Medifast..

While I was in the weight loss phase, I would eat out at least 2 nights per week. Almost every restaurant we went to was more than happy to plain broil a steak or chicken breast for me. If I couldn't get steamed veggies, I'd order a large tossed salad - no croutons, no cheese, no dressing. I got in the habit of bringing a very small jar of Walden Farms salad dressing with me whenever we went out..

Outback is still my favorite restaurant for a Medifast friendly meal...

We ate at Ronin Hibachi last night, for my honey's birthday. I had some specialty "sushi" wrapped in cucumber skins rather than rice, and a salmon salad (raw salmon on tiny bits of cucumber and seaweed, on a bed of carrots that looked like a bird's nest. Skipped the carrots.) I know I met my Lean requirements but the Green was scant, so when I got home I had some leftover spaghetti squash and it all worked out. You can get creative just about anywhere, but beware of the items that may be breaded...
