I got a quick question: Any recommendations for a good drug-store brand type of foundation?.

I also got another question: We've heard the success stories, but does anyone have a "failure" story that others could learn from? What went wrong? How did you pick yourself up?..

Your question was: Any recommendations for a good drug-store brand type of foundation?.

I think it is important to come to terms that "diets" fail... The success is in the decision each of us make to make a "life change"..

I remember a few months ago a guy at work brought in bagels for the office and apoligized to me since as he said "You are on a diet" I explained to him that I am not on a diet, I am on a "life change" and I choose to or not have that bagel.

Life is filled with decisions. I have choosen finally the decision to not fail and to be healthy and a thinner me!..

This is a journey. I think with any program has it's ups and downs. However, there are many on NS that have stuck with the program and never had any set backs.

I lost 56 lbs from 10/06 to 6/07. I stopped losing on 6-13-07...I remember the date. I have thyroid disease and my levels got really messed up. I really think it was because I had lost so much weight. It has taken months to get it back in line. I have gained less than 10 lbs since that date so feel really good about that.

After my levels were so wacky and I was still eating like I should and not losing, I started doing the mind games with myself. So I started having a bite of this or a bite of that. Anyway, finally my levels are okay again. And I am doing NS at a 100% again. I know I can lose the weight.

Is this a failure....no, just a detour!! Plus it gave my skin a chance to catch up in a lot of places.

NS works if you work the program.

Failure is such a strong word sometime we just get a little lost as long as we get back on the road it is a victory..

Having been on a self regulated, calorie controlled diet in the past(i decided to join ns this time around, because it's just too stressful right now for me to bother actually counting out my own calories and cooking) I know that there are ups and downs. you try SO hard while youre on the diet to lose the weight, and then the minute you go back to school, get sick or stressed(or both!) and dont go into the gym for a few weeks, and you lose some of that hard work.

The key is to not get discouraged! you did it once, and damn it you can do it again! sometimes it's actually better for the body to wait in between periods of significant weight loss. helps the skin tighten up a bit and helps your body recuperate after what can be a period of severe restrictions. (and yes..i consider not being able to munch on a nice chunk of chocolate hurtful to my soul, and thus my body ^_~..sometimes you just gotta give in...).

Even if you gain back a few pounds that you had lost, just think...you are still no where NEAR what you used to be, and that, in and of itself, is an accomplishment you should be proud of! sure, you could really use that new gym membership and less junk in the house, but you did it! every time I look at the scale and want to cry over those 3-4 pounds that bounced back onto my hips(visibly..unfortunately), I just think back to how I USED to look, and it keeps me motivated. if at all possible, get before and after pictures and keep track of your measurements! it may seem like a bother, but it's really motivating to see yourself getting smaller, even if you may not be actually losing weight...

I'm sure we've all had setbacks/bad days, but why dwell on them? You just get back up, dust yourself off, and move on...lesson learned...
